Adjustment of the shaft (See Fig K)
For operator comfort, the length of the shaft can
be adjusted up or down.
• Hold the shaft with one hand, and then loosen
the adjusting lock nut.
• Set the handle to the desired length and
tighten the adjusting lock nut.
OPERATION
Note: Do not operate this tool until it is
assembled and installed according to the
instructions. A tool incorrectly assembled can
cause serious injury.
Intended Use
The hedge trimmer is designed to cut and
shape normal hedges. Do not use for any other
purpose. The hedge trimmer is designed for
cutting tree branches which are not more than
3/4" (19mm) in diameter.
Note: Check the area to be cut, ensuring there
are no metal wires or stakes visible.

1. Switching Trimmer «ON» (see Fig. L)
The trimmer is fitted with a safety lock-off
button (5). To start the trimmer, press the lock-
off button then depress the safety switch on
the auxiliary handle (12) and then depress the
ON/OFF trigger switch (3) in order to start the
trimmer.
To switch the trimmer OFF, release either the
safety switch or the trigger switch.
2. Important Tips for Trimming Hedges
Assume a stable posture and hold the trimmer
with both hands. If using a step-ladder, make
sure it is securely located and if working on
high hedges, tie the ladder to the thicker inner
branches of the hedge for added support.
Ensure there are no by-standers or animals in
the work area.
