SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
of fire.
c) Don't expose power tools to rain or wet
conditions. Water entering a power tool will
increase the risk of electric shock.
d) Be aware that this tool is always in an
operating condition because it does not have
to be plugged into an electrical outlet.
3. TOOL USE AND CARE
a) Do not use this tool without a guard
attached.
b) Do not use tool if switch does not turn
it "ON" or "OFF". A tool that cannot be
controlled with the switch is dangerous and
must be repaired.
c) The rotating line performs a cutting
function. Use care when trimming around
screens and plantings.
d) When being used as an edger, stones
and other objects can be thrown out at
high speeds by the line. The tool and guard
are designed to reduce this danger. However,
precautions should be taken to reduce the risk.
Keep people and pets a safe distance away
and work away from nearby solid objects such
as walls, steps, large stones and trees to avoid
rebound (ricochet).
e) Risk of cut! Keep hands away from the
blades. Keep both hands on handles when
power is on.
f) Do not force hedge trimmer. It will do the
job better and with less likelihood of a risk of
injury, at the rate for which it was designed.
g) Do not attempt to remove cut material
or hold material to be cut when blades are
moving. Make sure trimmer switch is off when
clearing jammed material from blades. Do not

grasp the exposed cutting blades or cutting
edges when picking up or holding the hedge

h) Disconnect battery pack from tool or

place the switch in the "LOCKED" or "OFF"
position before making any adjustments,
changing accessories, or storing the tool.
Such preventive safety measures reduce the
risk of starting the tool accidentally.
i) Store idle tools indoors and out of reach
of children and other untrained users. Tools
are dangerous in the hands of untrained users.
j) Check damaged parts before further
use of the tool. A guard or other part that
is damaged should be replaced. Check for
misalignment or binding of moving parts,
breakage of parts, and any other condition that
may affect the tool's operation. If damaged,
have the tool serviced before using. Many
accidents are caused by poorly maintained
tools.
k) When battery pack is not in use, keep
it away from other metal objects like:
paper clips, coins, keys, nails, screws, or
other small metal objects that can make a
connection from one terminal to another.
Shorting the battery terminals together may
cause sparks, burns, or a fire.
l) Use the right tool. Do not force the tool or
attachment to do a job for which it was not
designed.
4. BATTERY / CHARGER
a) Do not dispose of batteries in fire, or
with household waste. Return exhausted
batteries to your local collection or recycling
point.
b) Before using battery charger, read all
instructions and cautionary markings on
(1) battery charger, (2) battery pack, and (3)
product using battery.
c) CAUTION: To reduce the risk of injury,
a RONA charger should only be used
to charge a RONA battery pack. Use the
charger to charge only the specific type of
battery pack supplied with this model. Do not
charge any other type of battery pack, even
