The direct vent gas fireplace when converted to Natural gas will have a manifold pressure approximately 3.5" w.c.
(.871 kPa) for a maximum input or 1.7" w.c. (.423 kPa) for a minimum input at the valve outlet with the inlet pressure
to the valve from a minimum of 5.0" w.c. (1.245 kPa) for the purpose of input adjustment to a maximum of 10.5" w.c.
(3.237 kPa).
INSTRUCTIONS FOR CONVERSION
1. If fireplace is installed, turn OFF gas and electric supply to fireplace before making gas conversion.
2. Remove top louver, grasp louver, lift and pull forward.
3. Lower bottom louver, lift and hinge forward.
4. Remove glass frame assembly.
6. Remove logs from burner assembly.
7. Remove one (1) 8 x 1/4" screw from air shutter.
8. Located to the right of electrodes is a burner hold-down tab, using a needle-nose pliers, bend burner hold-down tab
off the main burner.
9. Remove main burner by pivoting main burner forward as you slide main burner from left to right. Be careful as you
remove main burner in order to protect the electrodes from being damaged.
10. Remove air shutter from orifice fitting.
11. Remove Propane (LP) gas main burner orifice from orifice fitting.
12. Install Natural gas main burner orifice into orifice fitting:
for (A)DV(D,CD)32 ORIFICE MARKED 46
for (A)DV(D,CD)36 ORIFICE MARKED 2.10
for (A)DV(D,CD)42 ORIFICE MARKED 42
for (A)DVD48 ORIFICE MARKED 39
13. Replace air shutter onto orifice fitting. Air shutter must be threaded and bottomed-out onto orifice fitting.
14. Replace main burner onto burner assembly. Place main burner beneath electrodes, slide main burner from right to left
into burner locator, pivot main burner away from you and into air shutter.
15. Adjust air shutter setting to:
1/16" OPEN on (A)DV(D,CD)32 and (A)DV(D,CD)36
3/16" OPEN on (A)DV(D,CD)42
1/8" OPEN on (A)DVD48
16. Attach air shutter to main burner with one (1) 8 x 1/4" screw from Step 7.
17. Pull upward on pilot hood to remove and gain access to pilot injector orifice.
18. Remove Propane (LP) gas pilot injector orifice from pilot burner with 5/32" hex (Allen) wrench.
19. Insert Appropriate Natural gas pilot injector orifice into pilot burner using the 5/32" hex wrench.
20. Re-install pilot hood to pilot assembly. Push downward to snap in place.
21. Convert gas valve as instructed in S.I.T. Natural gas valve conversion kit.
22. The converted fireplace must be connected to a supply of the conversion gas and checked for leaks at all
connections.
