§ Before any maintenance, service and re-
pair work
1. Disconnect the appliance
[see } Chapter 10.2.1]
2. Secure the appliance against reconnec-
tion.
§ During the repair, a competent person
with knowledge of local conditions must
be available as contact for the qualified
staff.
CAUTION
Liquid refrigerant.
Frostbite to skin.
§ Wear safety goggles and safety gloves.
§ Protect hands and face from contact with
liquid/leaking refrigerant.

Mechanical hazards

WARNING
Transport of the appliances with indus-
trial trucks.
Risk of injury to persons in the event of a colli-
sion.
§ Observe transport routes for industrial
trucks.
§ Secure transported goods.
§ Only trained personnel may operate in-
dustrial trucks.
§ Note the centre of gravity of the appliance
for safe lifting of the load with the forklift.
Information is provided on the front and
back of the appliance packaging.
Appliance tipping hazard.
Persons may become trapped.
§ Remove the transport frames only when in
the stable and final installation position.
§ Anti-tipping device for wall mounting:
Attach the appliance properly to the wall
(see separate installation instructions -
II-030).
§ Anti-tipping device for island installation
(back to back):
Connect the appliances properly (see sep-
arate installation instructions - II-030).
§ Anti-tipping device for stand-alone installa-
tion:
Anchor the appliance stand securely to
the ground (see separate installation in-
structions - II-030).
When drilling, pay attention to the struc-
tural properties of the ground and the sub-
surface (floor heating, electrical cables,
etc.).
§ Do not climb onto or into the appliance.

§ Only qualified staff may transport the ap-
pliance following setup.
Dispose of packaging material and
film.
Suffocation hazard.
§ Keep packaging material and film away
from children.
§ Do not allow children to play with pack-
aging material or film.
Missing and/or not fully functional
safety devices.
Risk of injury, e.g. from rotating parts.
§ Check to ensure safety devices are com-
plete and working.
§ Do not remove protective devices and
covers attached to the appliance.
CAUTION
Material breakage.
Falling hazard. Impact hazard due to the pos-
sibility of falling goods. Cuts.
§ Do not climb onto or into the appliance.
Falling objects.
Impact injury. Cuts in the event of glass
breakage.
§ Do not set down any objects on the appli-
ance.
Incorrect installation of the display
shelves or mesh baskets.
Risk of injury due to falling of the display
shelves holding goods or the mesh baskets.
§ Display shelves or mesh baskets must
fully engage in the openings provided
when inserted.
§ Note installation of the display shelves or
mesh baskets [see } Chapter 8].
Opening/closing the doors.
Hands (body parts) may become trapped on
the hinge or handle side.
§ Look out for other persons when opening/
closing the lid.
§ When opening/closing, do not reach into
the opening gap, especially on the hinge
side.
Leakage of condensation water. Drain-
age of condensation from doors.
Slipping hazard.
§ Remove condensation from doors.
§ Check for puddles in front of and under
the appliance.
§ Remove spilled defrosting water/condens-
ation immediately.
