Put the vehicle electronics into operation again and place the key in the position „ignition". The parking
aid turns on automatically and is now ready for use. With activated ignition, engage the reverse gear to
activate the rear sensors.

Initial Operation

On the right side of the display unit is a small slider that serves to turn the acoustic signal off if required
(top switch position = ON, bottom switch position = OFF).
With correct installation, the parking system turns on automatically when turning on the ignition and
putting the gear to reverse. Test the system prior to first use to familiarize yourself with the displays and
signals.
Ask a second person to simulate the „obstacle" in front of and behind your car.
To do so, switch on the ignition (on-board voltage supply) or put the car into reverse to test the rear sen-
sors.
Ask the second person to slowly advance to the rear of the car from approx. 2 m distance.
The display (3) indicates the distance in meters, in the shape of a bar diagram and at the same time the
direction of the obstacle.
The distance to an obstacle is also signalled with increasing intensity of the signal (large distance = slow
beep, smaller distance = faster beep until it sounds permanently).
The following warning ranges must be observed:
Safe range green
Warning range yellow
Danger range red
In certain situations, the ultrasound measur-
ing principle does not work reliably.
This may be the case on slight slopes, round-
ed or soft objects, which absorb the ultra-
sound waves. The parking aid can only assist
the driver. This does not discharge the driver from his duty to take care.
