DURING operation

-- Keep proper balance and footing at all times. Do not over reach. Never stand at a higher level than the
feeding of the machine, when inserting material into it.
-- Always keep your fingers and hands away from the feeding chamber. Use a push stick (if available) to push
in the material.
-- When feeding material into the machine be extremely careful that pieces of metal, rocks, glass bottles, cans
or other foreign objects are not included.
-- If the cutting mechanism (blades) strikes any foreign objects or if the machine starts making any unusual
noise or vibration, switch off the engine (see 4.9.2) and allow it to come to a complete stop, disconnect the
spark plug, and take the following steps:
- Inspect the machine for damage.
- Check for and tighten any loose parts.
- Have any damaged parts replaced or repaired by an authorized service center with original parts.
-- Always stand clear of the discharge chute zone when operating this machine.
Do not allow processed material to build up in the discharge zone; this may prevent proper discharge and can
result in kickback of material through the feed intake opening.
Remove processed material with a rake. DO NOT use your hands or feet to clear the discharge zone.
-- Do not transport or move this machine while the engine is running.
-- Do not tilt the machine while in operation.
-- Switch off the engine and remove the spark plug whenever you leave the work area.
-- Motor should be kept clean of debris and other accumulations.
5.2.1- To switch ON and OFF
See 4.9.1 & 4.9.2
Important: After you have switched off the engine, do not leave it unattended! Remove the spark plug and
store the machine.
5.3- Use.
1. Insert the material to be shredded into the opening (feeding chamber).
It will be automatically drawn into the machine by the rotating cutter.
2. Do not stuff the opening completely full to avoid jamming the machine.
3. Alternate feeding branches and small litter that is a bit wet and decomposed. This will also help to avoid
jamming the cutter.
4. Squashy kitchen rubbish must be composted, never put it through the shredder!
5. Branches with leaves must always be entirely through the shredder and out of the way before feeding new
material into the machine. Make sure the shredded material is able to fall unobstructed into the discharge area
without blocking the outlet.
6. The ventilation opening must not be locked by the shredded material.
7. Continuous shredding of thick wood or branches can cause the machine to jam.
8. Soft material like leaves or sprigs can easily block the inlet; use a push stick to poke it in.
9. Always check material for nails and stones before shredding as they can seriously damage the shredder.
10. For better performance and comfort, it is recommended to empty the discharge area regularly with a rake.
Tips for shredding:
Depending on the type, age and dryness of the wood, branches will be more or less easily shredded.
The best results are obtained when fresh branches are shredded shortly after being cut.
It is recommended to shred soft garden waste in small quantity, especially when the waste is wet.
You can avoid blockage by performing periodic shredding sessions.
Following the below procedures will improve operation and prolong the life of the wood
chipper.
- Trees and branches should be shredded shortly after they are cut. They become extremely
hard once dry and the maximum cutting diameter is reduced.
