Connecting the solenoid valve to the level control unit

W A R N I N G
Touching current carrying cables can lead to death or severe injuries.
• Disconnect the power plug before carrying out any work on the unit.
• The solenoid valve may only be operated using the special coupler socket provided.
• Only connect the coupler socket when it is disconnected from the mains (when the power is
turned off).
How to proceed:
 F
1. If needed, rotate the solenoid valve plug. To do this, loosen the knurled screw and rotate the sole-
noid valve plug. Subsequently hand-tighten the knurled screw.
2. Connect the coupler socket with seal to the solenoid valve plug and secure with the enclosed
screw.
3. Place the protection cap over the solenoid valve plug and coupler socket and press in until the
protection cap locks into position.

Determining the start of the top-up process and fitting the level sensor

 G
The drinking water top-up process is activated ("Open"), when the long electrodes of the level sensor
are no longer immersed in the water.
The drinking water top-up process is stopped ("Close") when all electrodes are immersed in the water
again.
The difference between both water levels is determined by the difference in length ∆ l of the elec-
trodes. The quantity of drinking water added during top-up depends on the respective design of the
reservoir.
How to proceed:
1. Fasten the level sensor to a suitable support (post, rock) using a connection flange and two screws
(not included in the scope of delivery).
– OASE recommends: Fit the level sensor so that it is protected from the wind and waves, for ex-
ample inside a riser pipe.
2. Adjust the level sensor. To do so, loosen the coupling nut on the connection flange (turn counter-
clockwise) and move the level sensor to the desired starting point of the drinking water top-up.
– The level sensor must hang plumb-vertical in the water.
– After adjusting the sensor, tighten the coupling nut.
3. Route the level sensor cable. In order to avoid faulty switching due to interfering signals, do not
route the cable together with other current carrying cables.

Commissioning/start-up

C A U T I O N
The surface of the solenoid can become very hot during prolonged operation. Contact could
result in burns.
• Do not touch the solenoid.
• Prior to starting work on the unit, switch off the power and allow the solenoid time to cool
down.
How to proceed:
• Insert the power plug into the socket.
The unit is now operational.
