3. Initial operation of the FloorCheck sensor
3.1. Connecting the FloorCheck sensor
The device switches on automatically as soon as the pro-
tective cap is removed. To start the device the connector of
the FloorCheck sensor must be inserted into the expansion
socket of the HPM 3000+ unit. The message „FloorCheck
found" (fig. 1) appears and the sensor is started.
Take care to avoid injury from the measuring need-
les of the HPM 3000+.
3.2. Adjusting the sensor to to the ambient air
The message „Calibration, OK?" is displayed when the sen-
sor starts (fig. 2). To calibrate the sensor with the humidity
of the ambient air hold the sensor in the air (fig. 3) and then
press the OK button. The measuring screen appears when
the calibration process has finished. During the measure-
ment the sensor should exhibit the same temperature as the
ambient temperature. Moisture condensation will impair the
measurement result.
Please make sure
you hold the sensor in the air.
3.3. Measuring display and universal mode
In principle, the sensor's measuring screen (fig. 4) reverts to
the universal mode after the calibration process. The univer-
sal mode is not assigned to any particular screed or materi-
al, therefore a direct inference of the displayed value to an
absolute moisture content is not possible. However, even if
the material is unknown, a measurement with the univer-
sal characteristic curve provides an indication of the relative
moisture distribution by implementing comparative mea-
surements at various points.

4. Conducting measurements

4.1. Material selection (fig. 5)
The material menu can be accessed by pressing the „OK"
button in the universal mode. The desired material can be
selected here with the arrow keys (up/down) and accepted
by pressing the OK button. The measured values are then
displayed as an absolute weight percentage for the selected
material.
