wired to the mains supply; the connection must be made in a dry, weatherproof enclosure through the use of a double pole
switched spur which complies to BS3676 fitted with a 3 amp fuse. The installation must conform to the regulations of the Local
Electricity Authority which could include the use of plastic or metal conduit to protect the cable. A 30mA Residual Current Device
(RCD) must be fitted to the mains supply.

– The wires in the mains lead are coloured in accordance with the following code:
BROWN-UVE • BLUE-NEUTRAL • GREEN/YELLOW-EARTH
• The Brown lead should be connected to the plug terminal, which may be marked with an 'L' or coloured brown or red.
• The Blue lead should be connected to the Neutral terminal, which may be marked with an 'N' or coloured blue or black.
• The Green/Yellow lead should be connected to the Earth terminal which may be marked with an 'E' or coloured green or yellow.
• The cord should be protected from abrasion, cuts or any other damage.

MaNNEr:
1. Place the air pump on a surface higher than the water level.
The surface should be at least 12inches (30 cm) higher than
the water level of the pond, but not be positioned directly
above the pond.
The surface should
have a raised edge
to prevent the air
pump from sliding
off (Fig 1).

2. Connect manifold hose connector to the air outlet on the air
pump (Fig 2).
3. Connect manifold to the manifold hose connector.
Use the supplied spring clamps to ensure airtight connections
at both ends (Fig 3).
3
4. Connect one end of the air line tubing to the manifold on
the air pump (Fig 4). Ensure that the length of the tubing is
adequate to cover the distance from the permanent location
of the air pump to the water's edge plus the depth of the
(sheltered from rain
water.
4
5. CaUTIoN: Care must be taken during installation to
ensure that water cannot siphon out of the pond through
the air hose and damage the air pump.
To prevent back-siphoning install the provided check valve
in the air line in between the manifold and the pond (Fig 5).
1
6. Connect the supplied air stone to the other end of the air line
tubing (Fig 6).
2
NOtE: The air stone may need to be weighted since it is very
buoyant when filled with air. Attach the air stone and about 4"
(10 cm) of the air tubing to a heavy object (such as a brick or
a natural lime-free rock) with a cable tie. Adjust the length of
tubing so that the air stone floats at a depth of 2 feet (61 cm)
or at half of the depth of the pond. Ensure that the tubing has
no kinks or restrictions. Do not use a weight that will rust or
leach toxic substances in to the pond.
7. Plug the air pump into the electrical outlet or wall receptacle.
Be sure to allow for a "drip loop"(see Fig. 1 above).
