8.1 Switching On

Switch on the microscope at the on/off switch
(Fig. 2.7).

8.2 Focusing

Coarse and Fine Focusing
Coarse and fine focusing wheels are located on
either side of the stand (Fig. 17).
Speed Switch (optional)
Two speed levels are available for fine focusing
(1μm and 4μm). To switch speeds, press the left
focus wheel to the right or vice versa.
Setting the Focus Stop
The current position can be set as the focus stop
by locking the knurled wheel (46.1) at the right-
hand focus knob. It will then no longer be pos-
sible to travel past that position.
To do so, rotate the dial in the direction of the ar-
row. To disengage the wheel, move it in the op-
posite direction.

Setting the Torque
The torque of the focus drive can be adjusted us-
ing the knurled wheel (Fig. 17.1) at the left focus
knob.

Caution!
Ensure that the action is not too light. Otherwise,
the stage can slip downward unintentionally.
