CAUTION
The leakage pipe on the underside between pump housing and motor must
never be clogged or sealed; otherwise the water in it will rise and the motor will
be damaged! Please make sure that leakage cannot cause consequential dam-
ages! If necessary provide a suitable drip pan.

Removal of salt crystals plastic lantern
Check the plastic lantern regularly for salt crystal deposits (due to salt water).
Remove any crystals that may have formed on the lantern.
Make sure all parts are disconnected from the mains before doing any
maintenance work.
Use a screw driver or similar tool to remove the crystals carefully from above
through the openings from the lantern (1). Remove the salt crystals that might
collect on the motor foot (2).
The motor shaft must be completely free of any salt crystals. Please check
whether the shaft rotates freely, to do so try rotating the motor shaft with a scr-
ewdriver at the fan side. If it rotates easily, remove your tool and restore the
power supply.
7.6 Important hints for repair work
CAUTION
The exchange of the mechanical seal has to be done by an expert.
Dismantling:
Replacement of the mechanical seal:
Switch off the pump and disconnect it from the power supply. The mechanical
seal always has to be replaced completely (433). To do so, it is not necessary
to dismantle the complete pump, (exception: series BADU 21-40/5 and BADU
21-41/5 pumps). Only the motor unit has to be removed from the housing (107)
by loosening the 8 tapping screws or screw with washer assemblies (914.1 or
900.1).
