The light effect panel is designed for control via
a DMX light controller (3, 5, 8, 14, 24 or 26 DMX
channels at option). However, it can also be oper-
ated without a controller, either as an individual unit
or interconnected with several RGBL-212DMX
units in the master / slave mode.

4 Setting-up / Mounting

To prevent heat accumulation inside the unit,
always place it so that a sufficient air circulation is
ensured during operation. The air vents at the
housing must not be covered in any case, e. g. by
curtains.
It is possible to fasten the light effect panel via its
mounting bracket (1) to a suitable place, e. g. with
a stable mounting screw or a support for lighting
units (C hook) to a cross bar. As an alternative, the
unit can also be mounted via the two mounting
supports (12) to a wall or ceiling or be set up on
the floor. Fix the supports with a knob screw (13)
each on the left and right of the unit.
To align the panel, slightly release the setscrews
(2) at the bracket or the setscrews (13) on the sup-
ports, adjust the desired inclination of the panel and
retighten the screws. When a surface is illumi-
nated, the minimum distance to the surface should
be 50 cm.
WARNING The light effect panel must be
mounted in a safe and expert way. If
it is installed at a place where people
may walk or sit under it, it must addi-
tionally be secured [e. g. by a safety
rope; lead the safety rope through
the safety lug (11) and fix it so that
the maximum falling distance of the
unit would not exceed 20 cm].

5 Setting into Operation

WARNING To prevent damage to your eyes,
never look directly into the light
source for a long time.
Please note that stroboscopic effects
and fast colour changes may trigger
epileptic seizures with photosensi-
tive persons or persons with epi -
lepsy!
1) To switch on, connect the mains cable supplied
to the mains jack (3) and the mains plug to a
socket (230 V~ / 50 Hz). The display shortly
shows the last adjustment.
2) To switch off the unit, disconnect the mains
plug from the socket.
For a more convenient operation, it is recom-
mended to connect the unit to a socket which can
be switched on and off via a light switch.
Caution: Do not connect the unit to the mains volt-
age via a dimmer!
6 Operation
The adjustments of the unit are made via a system
menu to be operated by means of the buttons (7)
and the display (8). The display is activated by
pressing any button and shows the last adjustment.
The indication will be extinguished shortly after the
last button has been pressed.
The buttons have the following functions:
– Button MENU / ESC to return to the previous
menu level

– Buttons UP and DOWN to select the menu
options and to adjust certain menu functions
The menu structure is shown on page 19.
