Clamp only workpieces with maximum 10 arc minutes out of parallelism in the centring vice
without angle compensation.
Use angle compensation to clamp workpieces that are > 10 arc minutes out of parallelism in
the centring vice.

7.1. CLAMPING A WORKPIECE

Clamped workpiece
Damage due to overtightening or undertightening the torque and clamping force.
» Maximum 25 kN clamping force at 85 Nm torque.
» Do not damage the workpiece by excessive clamping force.
» Do not allow the workpiece to slip or fall out due to insufficient clamping force.
Torque wrench with 1/2 inch plug-in ratchet, 1/2 inch socket for a size 10 external hexagon
1. By reference to the side scales, roughly pre-position the top jaws.
2. Place the workpiece symmetrically between the top jaws.
3. Use the torque wrench to clamp the workpiece to the desired torque.
Tab. 4: Clamping narrow workpieces
If workpieces are narrower than or the same width as the top jaws, clamp them symmetrically in
the centring vice.
