COG, (Centre of Gravity), Setting
To carry out COG adjustment, there are basically 2 different
options. Adjustment can be carried out directly on the axle
bracket (Standard adapter only ) by shifting the crescent-
shaped spacers from one side to the other. To make an
adjustment in larger steps, you must change the position of the
axle-stem on the frame.
NOTE:
COG Adjustments may lead to an unstable wheelchair,
likely to tip. This requires the use of anti-tip tubes.
An adjustment to the castor angle may be necessary when
adjusting the COG.
Changing the position of the axle stem
Using the quick-release axles, take the wheels out of the angle
adapter.
Undo both screws (1) on top of the axle adapter and remove
these completely.
Undo the screw on the frame (2) and remove it completely.
Fit the axle stem in the desired position on the frame, put the
screws (1) and (2) back in place and re-tighten them to 7Nm.
Now undo the screws (3) under the seat tube (4) and slide the
seat tube in the desired position.
Re-tighten the screws (3) to 7Nm.
Make sure that the left and right sides are fitted in the same
positions. (Fig.6.4.4 to Fig.6.4.5).
COG setting on the standard axle bracket
Adjustment can be carried out directly on the the axle bracket
(standard axle bracket only) by shifting the crescent-shaped
spacers from one side to the other. 3 Positions are possible
(Fig.6.4.6 to FIg.6.4.8). Using the quick-release axles, take the
wheels out of the axle Adapter (4). Release the Allen screws
(1) with an Allen key. Take the lid (2) of the axle bracket off
and arrange the crescent-shaped spacers (3) according to
your desired COG. Put the lid back on and re-tighten the Allen
screws (1) to 8 Nm.
NOTE: In case the axle adapter was moved or removed whilst
adjusting the COG, wheel alignment and wheelbase width
needs to be checked and if necessary, adjusted (please refer to
the "Wheel Alignment" section).
CAUTION!
Some of the screws used during manufacturing are coated
with thread-locking fluid (blue dot on the thread) and can only
be adjusted up to 3 times before they need to be replaced by
new thread-locking screws. Alternatively, the screws can be
re-mounted using Loctite™ 243 threadlocker.
