Check-list for installation/following maintenance work

• Check that the seal is fitted on the pressure regulator connector and is not damaged
(for the model with a seal fitted)
• Fit the pressure regulator / OPTI-NO assembly onto the NO/N
• Open then close the bottle tap and check that there are no leaks between the bottle and the
pressure regulator.
• Check that the electrical power supply monitoring alarm is working correctly (LED's
extinguished and audible alarm sounding constantly) by placing the mode selector switch in
the CONTINUOUS or SEQUENTIAL position (check that it operates for at least two minutes).
• Connect the mains power supply to the OPTI-NO .
• Open the bottle tap slowly and then close it and check that the pressure monitoring alarm
is working correctly (flashing red LED and beep) by setting a pressure on the unit which is
different from that set on the pressure regulator.
• Check that the NO level of the gas mixture in the bottle matches the manufacturer's
specifications.
• Fit the pressure regulator / OPTI-NO assembly onto the NO/N
• Open then close the bottle tap and check that there are no leaks between the bottle and the
pressure regulator.
• Check the quantity of gas mixture remaining in the bottle.
• Check that the electrical power supply monitoring alarm is working correctly (LED's extinguished
and audible alarm sounding constantly) by placing the mode selector switch in the CONTINUOUS
or SEQUENTIAL position.
• Connect the mains power supply to the OPTI-NO .
• Flush the device (flushing procedure is given on page 3).
• Connect all of the new filters and patient tubes (injection and detection, depending on the mode
used)
• Check that the pressure monitoring alarm is working correctly (flashing red LED and beep)
during the flushing procedure.
In accordance with the dosage rule:
• Place the mode selector switch in the CONTINUOUS ......................................................
• or SEQUENTIAL position .................................................................................................
• Place the flow range selector knob in the Low position ....................................................
• or High position ................................................................................................................
• Adjust the pressure on the pressure regulator and the unit to suit the desired dosage .....
• Check that the device is working correctly.
In CONTINUOUS mode, the green and yellow LED's remain lit.
In sequential mode, the green LED remains lit constantly and the yellow LED flashes in time with
the respiratory rhythm.
No alarm should be tripped.
