The following messages may appear on the screen. Take
the necessary measures shown below.

Meaning/remedies
Auto white balance adjustment has
succeeded.
Color temperature is too high.
tChange the color temperature of the
subject to the appropriate level.
Color temperature is too low.
tChange the color temperature of the
subject to the appropriate level.
The camera has failed to adjust the
white balance.
tAdd white part to the subject shot.
If the message appears even if you
repeat adjustment, the camera
needs to be checked. Consult your
nearest Sony dealer.
The video level of the image is too
high.
tRemove any brightly illuminated
subjects from the image shot.
tDecrease the illumination.
tClose the iris opening.
tDecrease the video gain.
Take the measures above, and then
press the WHITE button.
The video level of the image is too low.
tIncrease the illumination.
tWiden the iris opening.
tIncrease the video gain.
Take the measures above, and then
press the WHITE button.
You have pressed the wrong button.
A card that had no recorded pictures
was attempted to be played back.
The camera is not compatible with the
card inserted.
tInsert a card compatible with the
camera.
Uninitialized card is inserted in the
camera.
tAfter confirming that all the
contents of the card may be erased,
initialize the card.
Maximum number of pictures have
been recorded on the card.
tErase unnecessary files, or insert a
new card.

PROTECT ON A protected file was attempted to be
erased.
tRemove protect and try again.
WB-MANU You have pressed the WHITE button
when the camera is in white balance
manual mode.
tPress the WB MODE button to set
the white balance mode to AUTO.

FAN CHECK ERROR The fan does not work properly.
tContact your nearest Sony dealer or
Sony Customer Service.
CARD PROTECT ON A card with protect function was
inserted into the camera. You cannot
record pictures on it.
tInsert a card without protect
function. (The camera is not
compatible with the write-protect
tab function for a "Memory Stick".)

PLAY ERROR The picture could not be played.
tTurn off the camera, turn it on, and

REC ERROR The picture could not be recorded on a
TRY AGAIN card.
tTurn off the camera, turn it on
again, and then press the REC
button. Or, copy the necessary files
recorded on the card to the
computer, and then initialize the
card.
NOW LOADING... The camera is now loading the image
data from the card. Wait for a while.
The lithium button battery used to
maintain the internal clock has run out.
tReplace with a CR2032 lithium
button battery.
