Shooting Procedure

The camera has a function to display the focusing status
of a subject on the LCD monitor, indicating that the
subject is in focus. This function allows easy shooting.
While the shooting procedure observing the LCD
monitor is described here, shooting can also be done
observing an external monitor connected to the camera
in the same manner.

Press the ON side of the a/? (main power) switch
on the rear of the camera control unit.
The ?/1 (on/standby) indicator on the top of the
camera control unit lights in orange.

Press the ?/1 switch.
The ?/1 indicator lights in green, and the LCD
monitor is activated. Check that the picture from
the camera (live image) is displayed on the monitor.

Turn on the connected equipment.

Illuminate the subject with proper lighting.

Insert a card into the card slot.

While viewing the LCD monitor, determine the
framing of the live image, composing your picture.

Using the function to display the focusing status on
the LCD monitor, adjust the focus.
1 Check that the focus indicator is displayed on
the monitor.
If not, press the DISP/INFO button.

2 Set the subject to be focused in the focus area
and compose the picture, then press the ENTER
button.
3 Turn the focus control or focus ring clockwise
or counterclockwise. The focus indicator on the
LCD monitor changes greatly as you repeat the
adjustment between out-of-focus and in-focus
statuses. The point where the most indicator
segments are seen indicates that the subject is in
focus.

Press the CAPTURE button.
A still picture is captured in the camera control unit.
When capturing of a still picture from the camera is
completed, the message "CAPTURE END" is
displayed.
Note
As the CCD of this camera employs the interlace
scanning, do not move the subject when you press
the CAPTURE button. If the subject moves while
capturing, the still picture cannot be captured
correctly.

Press the REC button.
The still picture captured in the camera is recorded
on the card.
The access lamp is lit in red during recording.
When recording on the card is completed, the
access lamp turns off, and the next shooting is
enabled.
Notes
• None of the operation buttons function during
recording.
• While the access lamp is lit, do not eject the card
and do not turn off the power. The card may be
damaged.
When shooting is finished
Press the ?/1 (on/standby) switch so that the indicator
lights in orange, then press the OFF side of the a/?
(main power) switch.
