1.0 GENERAL CHARACTERISTICS
1.1 ALARMS MANAGEMENT
The siren HPA700P has two control inputs:
AL : Alarm control (closed = standby; open = alarm)
S : System state control (closed = system deactivated; open = system active)
NOTE: According to the standard EN50131-1, the use of the signal "S" is not permitted therefore, it
should be closed to reference. If you wish to use the accessory functions linked with system state,
conformity with the standard will be lost.
After properly wiring and closing both inputs (lock function upon power-on), the siren will generate an alarm
when the alarm signal "AL" (signal presence = stand-by) is lost, and stops when the same signal reverts to
standby.
If the alarm condition remains active (open) for a long time, a programmed timeout is triggered via special
circuit jumpers to stop the alarm sound. After stopping the alarm, if the system state signal is used and this is
in its active state, the flashlight continues to blink (every approximately 5 seconds). The siren remains in this
alarm storage state until the signal "S" is supplied (system deactivated).
NOTE: In case of low battery (below the 11.5V threshold), the flash blinking is stopped to save the
remaining energy in favour of the acoustic alarm.
If the control inputs exceed the working ranges (in case of cut cables or short circuits) a tamper signal will be
immediately generated by opening the Tamper contact and an alarm sound will continue until the programmed
timeout.
NOTE: When using the double-balancing type inputs, it is mandatory to feed the siren off the same
voltage used to polarise the inputs (+13.8V instead of +14.4V - self-powered sirens dedicated
voltage supply). Otherwise, the siren will indicate a fault by flashing at a fast rate and this condition
will persist until it is properly connected.
Alternatively, you can use the reference to negative - released from the supply voltage.
Use screened multipole cable for burglar alarm systems.
NOTE: According to EN50131-4 standard, the siren will signal any remote power interruptions through
the failure output.
