Moving wire lane, installation of control unit
1. Remove negative terminal from the battery.
2. Lancia:
Remove trunk floor carpet. Remove the tool and the spare wheel. Remove side coverings.
Remove trunk entrance edge cover screen. Make a 40 m bore in the rear tail area on the left
about 20 cm from the center.
Fiat Strada:
Remove tail lights, detach boot lining, if necessary.
3. Insert 18-pin plug into the control unit. Insert the socket wire lane with the 12-pin plug into the
control unit. Secure the control unit in the rear left tail area.
Move the wire lane with the label on the left to the left rear light.
4. Lancia:
Move the socket end of the wire lane with seal from inside through the duct which has been
created and move it further along the cross brace of the towed-vehicle assembly up to the
socket retaining plate and secure with cable binders. Put seal in place on the hole which the
wire goes through. Move the wire lane with the label on the right underneath the entrance edge
of the trunk to the right rear light.
Fiat Strada:
Lay the socket end of the wire lane and the wire with the identification 'right' through the available
lead-throughs and along the cross brace to the socket retaining plate or to the right tail light.
5. Place socket seal, insert inner part with the socket casing and screw onto the holder with the
enclosed screws.
6. Connect the leads of the wire lane to the rear lights of the vehicle according to the following
diagram with the help of the cutter connectors (indicator wires and rear fog lamp wire must be
separated on the vehicle):
