The compact headend is fitted horizontally on a wall or floor as follows.
Remove the mounting brackets from the packaging and take out the compact headend.
On the cardboard packaging there are holes to indicate where to fix the brackets on the wall.
Fit the brackets using the screws from the accessory bag.
For wall installation fit the brackets as shown in figure 1 leaving enough space to disconnect the mains
cable. See figure 2 for floor installation.

The headend is protected against short circuits and power surges from the SAT inputs and the power
supply has self protection. If the headend does not come back on disconnect and reconnect the cable
to the power supply. See page 24 for some typical installation examples.
On the top of the headend there is an earth screw to connect the unit to the antenna earth in accordance
with EN60728-11. Use a cable lug to connect the cable to the screw.
The headend is provided with an RF input, for mixing the terrestrial signal, to give one output with the
satellite channels re-modulated in the RF band. If you do not want to mix the terrestrial signals on the
RF input then use the CA75F included in the accessory pack. Connect the RF output to the distribution
network.
More than one headend can be installed on one site. In this case the output of the units can be mixed
using the RF input or by using an external combiner (see the Fracarro catalogue).
Use the numeric keypad on the front of the unit to program the receivers. The backlit display shows
programming information and the status of the headend.
The compact headend consists of 6 digital receivers connected to a programming unit.
Each receiver has one SAT input 950-2150MHz. Connect the incoming signal from the dish to the input.
Each module can supply 14 or 18V and 22KHz tone to supply any LNB's or switches. Use loop-through
outputs to connect several receivers to the same satellite polarity.
Each receiver has its own microprocessor to manage digital channels. The programming unit allows:
• each receiver to be programmed
• each modulator to be surveyed in a programmable time frame
• errors to be shown by the RED LED being ON)
