7. IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR INITIAL OPERATION

To prepare the body repair kit for use, remove the dust caps from the pressure hose, cylinders and
extension bars. Connect the pressure hose to the hydraulic cylinder and the piston and secure it
with the coupling nuts (Fig. 1). Select the desired end piece and put it securely on the piston.
Note, that the use of extension bars and elbowed end pieces will significantly reduce the capacity of
the system. When using multiple extension bars, never use the shortest one in the middle. Always
place the shortest extension bar on the end.

8. OPERATION INSTRUCTIONS

To start operating the product, close the release valve (clockwise). Do not use excessive force - you
could overturn and break the valve. Start pumping with the pump handle untill the piston has ex-
tended to its desired lenght. Position the piston and endpieces carefully and continue pumping until
you have reaced the desired result. To release the pressure and retract the piston, open the release
valve (counterclockwise). The further you open the valve, the faster the piston will retract.
Caution:
The pump is equiped with an overload protection that will cause the oil to flow back into the hyd-
raulic cylinder when it is over capacity. At this point further pumping motions will have no effect.
Caution is required nontheless! Pay extra attention not to overload the system. If you see the
system bend or slip in any way, stop pumping and reposition the piston accordingly. If you keep
having problems with overloading the body repair kit, it is most likely not suitable for this specific
workpiece. Use a bigger hydraulic body repair kit that can provide more pressure.
Operating positions
When using the hydraulic body repair kit horizontally, make sure the pump arm is facing upwards
(Fig. 2). When using the hydraulic body repair kit horizontally, make sure the pressure hose is facing
down (Fig. 3). Using the product in any other position will prevent the hydraulic system from working
propperly.
It is possible that the product will occasionally (e.g. during transport) leak some oil or air may get into
the system. Refill the hydraulic oil if necessary using only high quality hydraulic oil. To vent any
excess air place the hydraulic cylinder horizontally. The pressure hose and the piston must point
downwards and should be positioned below the level of the hydraulic cylinder (so that any trapped
air can travel upwards. Open the air release valve and execute a few pumping motions. Close the
release valve and pump untill the piston is extended to its maximum length. Let the piston retract
again. Repeat this process a few times. If this does not help, contact a qualified service technician.
