INSTALLATION
Please install the HSG-Basismodul DECT in accordance with the instructions detailed in the Quick
Start Guide.
PLACING AND RECEIVING A CALL IN HEADSET MODE
HSG-Basismodul DECT on AEI interface:
To place a call, press either the Headset Button (2) on the base unit, the Talk Button (19) on the
remote pack, or the Headset Button on your telephone (in case the telephone is programmed for
headset usage on the AEI). The Headset indicator (1) light will now illuminate.
To end the call press either the Headset Button (2) on the base unit, the Talk Button (19) on the
remote pack, or the Headset Button on your telephone.
When you receive a call you will hear the ringing of your telephone in your headset and your
remote unit (the ringing of the remote unit can be switched off). You can pick up the call by
pressing either the Headset Button (2) on the base unit, the Talk Button (19) on the remote pack,
or the Headset Button on your telephone.
HSG-Basismodul DECT on Handset interface (telephones without AEI interface)
To place a call, remove the telephone handset from the hookswitch and press either the Headset
Button (2) on the base unit or the Talk Button (19) on the remote pack. The Headset Indicator (1)
light will now illuminate.
When your telephone rings take the handset off hook. If the HSG-Basismodul DECT is already in
Headset mode (Headset Indicator (1) illuminated) you will be able to talk to the caller immediately
through your headset. However, if the HSG-Basismodul DECT was left in Handset mode after
previous use, you will need to press the Headset Button (2) on the base unit or the Talk Button (19)
on the remote pack. When the call is complete, return the telephone handset back to the cradle to
disconnect. The HSG-Basismodul DECT will remain in Headset mode until the Headset button (2)
is pressed again.
Tip: By selecting Handset mode after completing your call, you will conserve the remote
pack battery power and extend the remaining available talktime. You can achieve this by
pressing either the Headset Button (2) or the Talk Button (19) immediately on conclusion of
the call.
HEADSET/HANDSET SELECTION
Attention: The following description is only relevant in case the HSG-Basismodul DECT is
not connected to the AEI interface of a Tenovis telephone but to the handset port
(telephones without AEI interface).
Pressing the Headset Button (2) on the base unit selects Headset or Handset mode. The Headset
Indicator (1) will be illuminated when in Headset mode and off when in Handset mode. The same
function is provided by the Talk Button (19) on the remote pack.

If mains power fails, the base unit will switch to handset mode. When power is restored,
headset mode can be re-established by pressing either the headset button on the base or the
talk button on the remote pack.
