3 Einsatzmöglichkeiten

Das Mischpult MPX-450 mit zwei Stereo-Eingangs-

kanälen und einem DJ-Mikrofonkanal ist für belie-
bige DJ-Anwendungen im privaten oder professio-

nellen Bereich geeignet. Es kann sowohl frei aufge-
stellt als auch in ein Bedienpult eingebaut werden.
4 Gerät anschließen
Vor dem Anschließen von Geräten bzw. vor dem Än-
dern bestehender Anschlüsse das Mischpult aus-
schalten.
4.1 Eingänge
1) Ein DJ-Mikrofon an die XLR-Buchse (7) auf der
Frontplatte oder an die 6,3-mm-Klinkenbuchse
MIC (43) auf der Geräterückseite anschließen.
2) Die Stereo-Tonquellen an die entsprechenden
Eingänge der Kanäle 1 und 2 anschließen (weiße
Buchse L = linker Kanal; rote Buchse R = rechter
Kanal):
- Geräte mit Line-Pegel-Ausgang (z. B. MiniDisk-
Recorder, CD-Spieler, Kassettenrecorder) an
die Buchsen LINE (41) und – wenn der Um-
schalter (35) des jeweiligen Kanals auf Position
AUX gestellt wird – an die Buchsen PHONO/
AUX (42);
- Plattenspieler mit Magnetsystem an die Buch-
sen PHONO/AUX (42); den Umschalter (35)
des jeweiligen Kanals dann auf Position PHO-
NO stellen. Den Masseanschluß des Platten-
spielers mit der Klemmschraube GND (44) des
Kanals verbinden.
4.2 Ausgänge
1) Den Eingang des Verstärkers an den Masteraus-
gang (38) anschließen.
2) Ist eine Monitoranlage vorhanden, den Verstär-
ker der Monitoranlage an den Ausgang BOOTH
(39) anschließen.
3) Sollen Tonaufnahmen gemacht werden, das Auf-
nahmegerät an den Record-Ausgang REC (40)

The mixer MPX-450 with two stereo input channels
and one DJ microphone channel is suitable for any
desired private or professional DJ applications. It
can be used as a table top unit as well as be in-
stalled into a console desk.
4 Connection of the Unit
Prior to connecting units or changing existing con-
nections switch off the mixer.
4.1 Inputs
1) Connect a DJ microphone to the XLR jack (7) on
the front panel or to the 6.3 mm jack MIC (43) on
the rear side of the unit.
2) Connect the stereo audio sources to the cor-
responding inputs of channels 1 and 2 (white jack
L = left channel; red jack R = right channel):
- units with line level output (e. g. minidisk re-
corder, CD player, cassette recorder) to the
LINE jacks (41) and – if the selector switch
(35) of the respective channel is set to position
AUX – to the PHONO/AUX jacks (42);
- turntables with magnetic system to the PHONO/
AUX jacks (42); set the selector switch (35) of
the respective channel to position PHONO.
Connect the ground connection of the turntable
to the clamping screw GND (44) of the channel.
4.2 Outputs
1) Connect the input of the amplifier to the master
output (38).
2) In case of a monitor system, connect the amplifier
of the monitor system to the output BOOTH (39).
3) For audio recordings connect the recording unit
to the record output REC (40). The recording
level is independent of the position of the master
control (22).
4) Via stereo headphones it is possible to monitor
both the pre fader level of channels 1 and 2 as
well as the playing music programme ahead of

4) Über einen Stereo-Kopfhörer kann sowohl der
Pre Fader-Pegel der Kanäle 1 und 2 sowie das
laufende Musikprogramm vor dem Masterregler
(22) abgehört werden (siehe Kap. 5.6). Den Kopf-
hörer (Impedanz ≥ 2 x 8 Ω) an die 6,3-mm-Klin-
kenbuchse (34) auf der Frontplatte anschließen.
4.3 Anschlüsse zur Fernsteuerung von

CD-Spielern und Plattenspielern

CD- bzw. Plattenspieler, die für eine Fernsteuerung
ausgelegt sind, können über das Mischpult fernge-
startet werden (Faderstart).
Das Mischpult besitzt pro Stereo-Eingangskanal
zwei Steuerausgänge START (36) für die Fernstart-
Funktion:
- eine 6,3-mm-Klinkenbuchse zum Anschluß eines
kontaktgesteuerten CD- oder Plattenspielers
- eine 3,5-mm-Klinkenbuchse zum Anschluß eines
impulsgesteuerten CD- oder Plattenspielers
(Zur Funktionsweise des Fernstarts siehe Kap. 5.8.)
Ist der CD- oder Plattenspieler für Kontaktsteuerung
ausgelegt (aus dem Programm „img Stage Line" sind
dies z. B. die CD-Spieler CD-252DJ und CD-304DJ
und alle Plattenspieler der DJP-Serie), den Steuer-
eingang des Geräts über einen 2poligen 6,3-mm-
Klinkenstecker an die 6,3-mm-Klinkenbuchse des
Kanals anschließen.
Ist der CD- oder Plattenspieler für Impulssteuerung
ausgelegt, den Steuereingang des Geräts über ei-
nen 2- oder 3poligen 3,5-mm-Klinkenstecker an die
3,5-mm-Klinkenbuchse des Kanals anschließen.
4.4 Pultbeleuchtung und Netzanschluß
Zur Pultbeleuchtung kann eine Schwanenhalsleuch-
te (12 V/5 W max.) an die 4polige XLR-Buchse (25)
angeschlossen werden, z. B. die Leuchte GNL-405
aus dem Programm „img Stage Line". Die Leuchte
wird mit dem Mischpult ein- und ausgeschaltet.
Zuletzt den Stecker des Netzkabels (37) in eine
Steckdose (230 V~/50 Hz) stecken.

the 6.3 mm jack (34) on the front panel.
4.3 Connections for the remote control of
CD players and turntables
CD players or turntables provided for remote control
can be started remotely via the mixer (fader start).
The mixer is equipped with two control outputs
START (36) for each stereo input channel for the
remote start function:
- a 6.3 mm jack for connecting a contact-controlled
CD player or turntable
- a 3.5 mm jack for connecting a pulse-controlled
CD player or turntable
(For the way of functioning of the remote start see
chapter 5.8.)
If the CD player or turntable is provided for contact
control (e. g. the CD players CD-252DJ and CD-
304DJ and all turntables of the DJP series of the
"img Stage Line" range), connect the control input of
the unit via a 2-pole 6.3 mm plug to the 6.3 mm jack
of the channel.
If the CD player or turntable is provided for pulse con-
trol, connect the control input of the unit via a 2-pole or
3-pole 3.5 mm plug to the 3.5 mm jack of the channel.
4.4 Console illumination and mains connection
For console illumination a gooseneck lamp (12 V/5 W
max.) can be connected to the 4-pole XLR jack (25),
e. g. the lamp GNL-405 of the "img Stage Line"
range. The lamp is switched on and off with the mixer.
Finally connect the plug of the mains cable (37)
to a mains socket (230 V~/50 Hz).
5 Operation
Prior to switching on set the output controls MAS-
TER (22) and BOOTH (30) to minimum to avoid
strong inrush noise. Then switch on the mixer with
the POWER switch (26). The POWER LEDs ON
(28) light up. Then switch on the connected units.

5 Bedienung

Vor dem Einschalten die Ausgangsregler MASTER
(22) und BOOTH (30) auf Minimum stellen, um starke
Einschaltgeräusche zu vermeiden. Dann das Misch-
pult mit dem Schalter POWER (26) einschalten. Die
Betriebsanzeigen ON (28) leuchten. Anschließend
die angeschlossenen Geräte einschalten.
5.1 Grundeinstellung der Eingangskanäle
Den Crossfader (20) in die Mittelposition und alle
CUT-Schalter (18 und 21) auf OFF stellen.
Mit dem Masterregler (22) wird der Gesamtpegel
aller angeschlossenen Tonquellen eingestellt. Den
Regler auf ca. 2 / des Maximums stellen. Die Um-

schalttaste (29) des VU-Meters (27) darf nicht ge-
drückt sein: Bei dieser Tastenstellung (LED rechts
neben der Taste leuchtet) zeigt das VU-Meter den
Stereo-Ausgangspegel an, der am Masterausgang
(38) zur Verfügung steht.
5.1.1 Stereo-Kanäle 1 und 2
1) Zum Aussteuern von Kanal 1 den Fader (14) von
Kanal 2 auf Minimum stellen (bzw. das Gerät,
das auf Kanal 2 spielen soll, ausschalten oder
auf Pause stellen).
2) Den Gain-Regler (3) und die Klangregler (2) von
Kanal 1 zunächst in die Mittelposition stellen.
3) Mit dem Eingangsumschalter (1) die angeschlos-
sene Signalquelle anwählen.
4) Die Tonsignale (Musikstücke oder Testsignale)
auf Kanal 1 geben. [Bei baßbetonter Musik leuch-
tet die vor den Kanalfader geschaltete BEAT-LED
(15) pulsierend im Takt.]
5) Anhand des VU-Meters mit dem Fader (13) den
Pegel von Kanal 1 ausregeln. Optimale Aussteu-
erung liegt vor, wenn bei den lautesten Passagen
die 0-dB-LEDs des VU-Meters kurz aufleuchten.
Übersteuerungen werden durch Aufleuchten der
roten LEDs angezeigt.
Der Fader sollte nach der Pegeleinstellung auf

ca. / des Maximums stehen, damit zum Ein- und

Ausblenden genügend Reglerweg vorhanden ist.
5.1 Basic adjustment of the input channels
Set the crossfader (20) to mid-position and all CUT
switches (18 and 21) to OFF.
With the master control (22) the overall level of
all connected audio sources is adjusted. Set the
control to approx. 2 / of its maximum position. The

selector button (29) of the VU meter (27) must not
be pressed: with this button position (LED on the
right side of the button lights up) the VU meter
shows the stereo output level which is available at
the master output (38).
5.1.1 Stereo channels 1 and 2
1) To control channel 1, set the fader (14) of chan-
nel 2 to minimum (or switch off the unit which is to
play on channel 2 or set the unit to the pause
mode).
2) Set the gain control (3) and the equalizer controls
(2) of channel 1 to mid-position first.
3) With the input selector switch (1) select the con-
nected signal source.
4) Feed the audio signals (music pieces or test sig-
nals) to channel 1. [In case of music with empha-
sized bass frequencies the BEAT LED (15) con-
nected ahead of the channel fader lights to the
rhythm in a pulsating way.]
5) By means of the VU meter, control the level of
channel 1 with the fader (13). The optimum level
is obtained if the 0 dB LEDs of the VU meter
shortly light up with music peaks. In case of over-
load the red LEDs light up.
After level adjustment, the fader should be in
approx. 2 / of its maximum position so that there

is sufficient control range for fading in and out.
6) If the fader is moved up very little or very much,
the level must be matched by setting the input
amplification: turn back or turn up the GAIN con-
trol (3) correspondingly.
The optimum adjustment of the input amplifi-
cation can be obtained by means of the display of
the pre fader level. Switch the VU meter to the
PFL display mode by pressing the button (29)
(LED on the left side of the button lights up). Then
