6) Bei sehr wenig oder sehr weit aufgezogenem
Fader muß der Pegel durch Regulierung der Ein-
gangsverstärkung angepaßt werden: Den GAIN-
Regler (3) entsprechend zurück- bzw. aufdrehen.
Die Eingangsverstärkung läßt sich durch An-
zeige des Pre Fader-Pegels optimal einstellen.
Dazu das VU-Meter durch Drücken der Taste
(29) in den PFL-Anzeigemodus umschalten (LED
links neben der Taste leuchtet). Das VU-Meter
zeigt dann den Signalpegel von Kanal 1 (linke
LED-Reihe) und Kanal 2 (rechte LED-Reihe) vor
dem jeweiligen Kanalfader an.
7) Das VU-Meter durch Lösen der Taste (29) wieder
auf Anzeige des Masterpegels schalten, und mit
den drei Klangreglern (2) das gewünschte Klang-
bild einstellen: Die Höhen (HIGH), Mitten (MID)
und Tiefen (BASS) lassen sich bis max. 15 dB
anheben bzw. bis max. 30 dB stark absenken.
Stehen die Regler in Mittelstellung, findet keine
Frequenzgangbeeinflussung statt.
Hinweis: Klangeinstellungen wirken sich auf den
Pegel aus. Deshalb nach einer Klangregulierung
den Kanalpegel anhand der Pegelanzeige kon-
trollieren und ggf. korrigieren.
8) Zur Aussteuerung von Kanal 2 das Gerät, das auf
Kanal 1 spielen soll, ausschalten oder auf Pause
stellen, und die gleichen Schritte durchführen wie
bei der Einstellung von Kanal 1.
5.1.2 Mikrofonkanal
1) Zum Einschalten des Mikrofonkanals die Taste ON
AIR (10) drücken (LED über der Taste leuchtet).
2) Die Geräte, die auf Kanal 1 und 2 spielen sollen,
ausschalten bzw. auf Pause stellen.
3) Den Gain-Regler (8) und die Klangregler (9) zu-
nächst in die Mittelposition stellen.
4) Anhand des VU-Meters (27) mit dem Pegelregler
LEVEL (11) den Kanal optimal aussteuern. Bei zu
hohem oder zu niedrigem Pegel die Eingangs-
verstärkung mit dem Gain-Regler (8) anpassen.
5) Mit den Klangreglern – HIGH für die Höhen, MID
für die Mitten, BASS für die Tiefen – den ge-
wünschten Klang einstellen (max. ±15 dB). [Da

ahead of the respective channel fader.
7) Switch the VU meter again to master level dis-
play by releasing the button (29), and with the
three equalizer controls (2) adjust the desired
sound: the HIGH, MID, and BASS frequencies
can be boosted up to max. 15 dB or strongly
attenuated down to max. 30 dB. If the controls
are in mid-position, there is no influence on the
frequency response.
Note: Sound adjustments influence the levels.
Therefore, after a sound adjustment, check the
channel level by means of the level display and
correct it, if necessary.
8) For the control of channel 2 switch off the unit
which is to play on channel 1 or set the unit to the
pause mode, and take the same steps as for the
adjustment of channel 1.
5.1.2 Microphone channel
1) To switch on the microphone channel, press the
ON AIR button (10) [LED above the button lights
up].
2) Switch off the units which are to play on channels
1 and 2 or set them to the pause mode.
3) Set the gain control (8) and the equalizer controls
(9) to mid-position first.
4) By means of the VU meter (27) obtain an opti-
mum level for the channel with the LEVEL control
(11). If the level is too high or too low, match the
input amplification with the gain control (8).
5) With the equalizer controls – HIGH for the high
range, MID for the midrange, BASS for the bass
range – adjust the desired sound (max. ±15 dB).
[As sound adjustments influence the channel
level, the level must be corrected after the sound
adjustment, if necessary.]
5.2 Crossfading between channels 1 and 2
1) Obtain an optimum level for channels 1 and 2
(see chapter 5.1.1).

4) Mit dem Umschalter C.F. CURVE (17) die Über-
blendcharakteristik für den Crossfader einstellen:
obere Position N („normal"):
weiches Überblenden (gleitender Übergang)
untere Positon F („fast"):
hartes Überblenden (abrupter Übergang)
5) Anhand des VU-Meters (27) mit dem Masterreg-
ler (22) den gewünschten Pegel einstellen, der
am Masterausgang (38) zur Verfügung steht. Da-
mit das VU-Meter den Masterpegel anzeigt, darf
die Taste (29) nicht gedrückt sein.
Bei Übersteuerungen (rote LEDs des VU-Me-
ters leuchten auf) den Masterpegel reduzieren.

4) With the selector switch C.F. CURVE (17) adjust
the kind of fading for the crossfader:
upper position N ("normal"):
soft fading (smooth transition)
lower position F ("fast")
hard fading (abrupt transition)
5) By means of the VU meter (27) adjust with the
master control (22) the desired level which is
available at the master output (38). For the dis-
play of the master level by the VU meter the but-
ton (29) must not be pressed.
In case of overload (red LEDs of the VU meter
light up) reduce the master level.
5.3 Mixing the signals of channels 1 and 2
For mixing the signals of channels 1 and 2, set the
crossfader (20) to mid-position. In this case the vol-
ume of channel 1 and channel 2 is the same. For a
lower volume of one channel compared to the other,
set the crossfader more to the left or right corre-
spondingly.
5.3 Signale der Kanäle 1 und 2 mischen
Sollen die Signale der Kanäle 1 und 2 gemischt wer-
den, den Crossfader (20) in die Mittelposition schie-
ben. Die Kanäle 1 und 2 sind dann gleich laut zu
hören. Soll ein Kanal leiser als der andere zu hören
sein, den Crossfader entsprechend weiter nach links
oder rechts schieben.
5.4 Besondere Sound-Effekte
Über die beiden Tasten PUNCH IN besteht die Mög-
lichkeit, den jeweiligen durch den Crossfader ausge-

blendeten Kanal kurzzeitig hörbar zu machen:
- Steht der Crossfader rechts, und soll der Kanal,
der auf die linke Seite des Crossfaders geschal-

tet ist, zu hören sein, die linke Taste PUNCH IN
(16) gedrückt halten.
- Steht der Crossfader links, und soll der Kanal,
der auf die rechte Seite des Crossfaders geschal-
tet ist, zu hören sein, die rechte Taste PUNCH IN
(24) gedrückt halten.
Zur Erzeugung besonderer Sound-Effekte können
mit den Schaltern CUT die Höhen (Schalter HIGH),
Mitten (Schalter MID) und Tiefen (Schalter BASS)
der Kanäle 1 und 2 (kurzzeitig) unterdrückt werden:
die drei linken Schalter CUT (18) für den Kanal, der
auf die linke Seite des Crossfaders geschaltet ist;
die drei rechten Schalter CUT (21) für den Kanal,
der auf die rechte Seite des Crossfaders geschaltet
ist.
Position ON (Schalter steht oben)
Cut-Funktion eingeschaltet: Das jeweilige Fre-
quenzband wird unterdrückt.
Position OFF (Schalter steht in der Mitte)
Cut-Funktion für das jeweilige Frequenzband ab-
geschaltet.
Position ACTION (Schalter nach unten gedrückt)
Solange der Schalter in der unteren Position ge-
halten wird, ist die Cut-Funktion für das jeweilige
Frequenzband aktiviert. Nach dem Loslassen der
Taste wird das Signal wieder weich eingeblendet.
5.4 Special sound effects
Via the two PUNCH IN buttons the respective chan-
nel faded out by the crossfader can be made audible
for a short time:
channel 1
- with the crossfader in right position, keep the left
PUNCH IN button (16) pressed to make the
channel audible which is switched to the left side
channel 2
of the crossfader.
- with the crossfader in left position, keep the right
PUNCH IN button (24) pressed to make the
channel audible which is switched to the right
side of the crossfader.
For producing special sound effects, the CUT
switches allow to suppress the high range (HIGH
switch), the midrange (MID switch), and the bass
range (BASS switch) of channels 1 and 2 (for a short
time): the three left CUT switches (18) for the chan-
nel switched to the left side of the crossfader; the
three right CUT switches (21) for the channel
switched to the right side of the crossfader.
Position ON (switch in upper position)
Cut function is switched on: the respective fre-
quency band is suppressed.
Position OFF (switch in medium position)
Cut function for the respective frequency band is
switched off.
Position ACTION (switch pressed downwards)
As long as the switch is kept in the lower position,
the Cut function for the respective frequency
band is activated. After releasing the button, the
signal is softly faded in again.
5.5 Talkover function
The talkover function serves for better audibility of
microphone announcements with playing music pro-
gramme. To activate the function, press the AUTO
TALK button (12): if the button is pressed (LED above
the button lights up), the levels of channels 1 and 2
are automatically attenuated by 15 dB in case of
microphone announcements. To switch off the func-
tion, release the button again.
