2 Hinweise für den sicheren Gebrauch
Dieses Gerät entspricht allen erforderlichen Richt -
linien der EU und ist deshalb mit
WARNUNG Das Gerät wird mit lebensgefähr -
licher Netzspannung (230 V~) ver-
sorgt. Nehmen Sie deshalb niemals
selbst Eingriffe am Gerät vor und ste -
cken Sie nichts durch die Lüftungs -
öffnungen! Es besteht die Gefahr
eines elektrischen Schlages.
Beachten Sie auch unbedingt die folgenden Punkte:

Das Gerät ist nur zur Verwendung im Innenbe-
reich geeignet. Schützen Sie es vor Tropf- und
Spritz wasser, hoher Luftfeuchtigkeit und Hit ze
(zulässiger Einsatztemperaturbereich 0 – 40 °C).

Stellen Sie keine mit Flüssigkeit gefüllten Gefäße,
z. B. Trinkgläser, auf das Gerät.

Die im Gerät entstehende Wärme muss durch
Luftzirkulation abgegeben werden. Decken Sie

Nehmen Sie das Gerät nicht in Betrieb und ziehen
Sie sofort den Netzstecker aus der Steckdose:
1. wenn sichtbare Schäden am Gerät oder an der
Netz anschlussleitung vor handen sind,
2. wenn nach einem Sturz oder Ähnlichem der
Verdacht auf einen Defekt besteht,
3. wenn Funktionsstörungen auftreten.
Lassen Sie das Gerät in jedem Fall in einer Fach-
werkstatt reparieren.

2 Safety Notes

The following items must be observed in any case:

The unit is suitable for indoor use only. Protect it
against dripping water and splash water, high air
humidity and heat (admissible ambient termpera-
ture range 0 – 40 °C).

Do not place any vessels filled with liquid, e. g.
drinking glasses, on the unit.

The heat generated within the unit must be carried
off by means of air circulation. Do not cover the air
vents of the housing with any objects.

Do not operate the unit or immediately disconnect
the plug from the mains socket
1. if there is visible damage to the unit or to the
mains cable,
2. if a defect might have occurred after the unit
was dropped or suffered a similar accident,
3. if malfunctions occur.
In any case the unit must be repaired by skilled
personnel.

Never pull the mains cable to disconnect the
mains plug from the socket; always seize the plug.

For cleaning only use a dry, soft cloth, by no

3 Einsatzmöglichkeiten
Der Power-Mixer MPM-400 ist eine Kombination
aus einem 4-Kanal-Mischpult und einer Stereo-End-
stufe mit einer Ausgangsleistung von 2 × 100 W
Er ist für Beschallungen aller Art, auch auf der
Bühne, ausgelegt. Für den Einsatz im DJ-Bereich ist
eine automatische Talk over-Schaltung integriert.
Der MPM-400 kann in dem als Zubehör liefer -
baren Koffer MPM-400C betrieben oder in ein Rack
(482 mm/19") eingesetzt werden. Für den Rackein-
bau werden 2 HE (Höheneinheiten) = 89 mm be -
nötigt.
Das Mischpult verfügt über 4 Eingangskanäle mit
Anschlüssen für 5 Stereoquellen (3 × Line, 2 ×
Phono) und 3 Mikrofone. Der erste Mikrofonkanal ist
für DJ-Anwendungen mit einem automatischen
Talk over ausgestattet. Die Eingangsempfindlichkeit
der Eingangskanäle kann mit den PRESET-Reglern
angepasst werden.
Das Gerät ist mit 2 Klangregelstufen ausgestat-
tet: eine 2fache Klangregelung im DJ-MIC-Kanal
und eine 3fache Regelung in der Mastersumme.
Zusätzlich lässt sich über die Stereo-SEND- und
RETURN-Anschlüsse ein externes Effektgerät ein-
schleifen. Jeder Kanal kann einzeln auf den Effekt-
weg geschaltet werden.

As the colours of the wires in the mains lead of this
appliance may not correspond with the col oured
markings identifying the terminals in your plug,
proceed as follows:
1. The wire which is coloured green and yellow
must be con nected to the terminal in the plug
which is mark ed with the letter E or by the earth
symbol

2. The wire which is coloured blue must be con -
nected to the terminal which is marked with the
letter N or coloured black.
3. The wire which is coloured brown must be con -
nected to the terminal which is marked with the
letter L or coloured red.
Warning – This appliance must be earthed.
If the unit is to be put out of operation de -
finitively, take it to a local recycling plant for
a disposal which is not harmful to the envi-
ronment.
3 Applications
The powered mixer MPM-400 is a combination of a
4-channel mixer and a stereo power amplifier with an
output power of 2 × 100 W
applications of all kind, also on stage. An automatic
talkover circuit is integrated for DJ applications.
The MPM-400 can be operated in the case
MPM-400C which is available as an accessory or
can be inserted into a rack (482 mm/19"). For rack
installation 2 RS (rack spaces) = 89 mm are required.
The mixer features 4 input channels with connec-
tions for 5 stereo sources (3 × Line, 2 × Phono) and
3 microphones. The first microphone channel is
equipped with an automatic talkover for DJ applica-
tions. The input sensitivity of the input channels can
be adjusted with the PRESET controls.

4 Geräte anschließen
Vor dem Anschließen von Geräten bzw. Ändern be -
stehender Anschlüsse das Mischpult ausschalten.
4.1 Stereogeräte
CD-Spieler, Tonbandgeräte und andere Audiogeräte
mit Linepegel-Ausgängen werden an die Line-Ein-
gänge (24 und 26) der Kanäle 2, 3 und 4 über Cinch-
Kabel angeschlossen. Instrumente mit Linepegel-
.
Stereoausgängen (Keyboards etc.) können eben falls
über die Line-Eingänge zugemischt werden.
Für Plattenspieler mit Magnetsystem sind die
Kanäle 3 und 4 mit RIAA-Phonoeingängen (25) aus-
gestattet. Dabei ist zu beachten, dass die separate
Phono-Masseleitung mit der Masse-Klemmschraube
(23) auf der Geräterückseite verbunden wird, da
sonst Brummprobleme auftreten können.
4.2 Mikrofone
Der Mono-Mikrofonkanal CH 1 (asymmetrisch) eig-
net sich mit seiner automatischen Talkover-Funktion
besonders für den Einsatz im DJ-Bereich. Er wird
auf die Ausgangssummen LEFT/RIGHT abge-
mischt. Zum Anschluss eines Mikrofons an diesen
Kanal die Buchse MIC/CH 1 (1) verwenden.
Der Stereokanal CH 2 (asymmetrisch) ist mit
2 Mikrofoneingängen (2) ausgestattet. Ein Mikrofon
wird auf die linke Ausgangssumme gemischt, das
andere auf die rechte Summe. Soll CH 2 mit nur
einem Mikrofon betrieben werden, das Mikrofon an
die Buchse CH 2-L/MONO anschließen. Das Mikro-
fonsignal wird dann automatisch auf beide Summen
LEFT/RIGHT abgemischt.
4.3 Aufnahmegerät
Für Tonaufnahmen das Aufnahmegerät an den Ste-
reoausgang REC (21) anschließen. Der Ausgang
REC liegt parallel zum Ausgang MASTER (22). Der
Signalpegel ist abhängig von der Einstellung der
Masterregler LEFT (14) und RIGHT (15).

tone control for the DJ-MIC channel and a 3-way
equalizer for the master signal. In addition, an exter-
nal effect unit can be inserted via the stereo SEND
and RETURN connections. Each channel can be
switched to the effect way individually.
4 Connection
Prior to connecting units or changing existing con -
nections switch off the mixer.
4.1 Stereo units
CD players, tape recorders, and other audio units
with line level outputs are connected to the line
inputs (24 and 26) of the channels 2, 3, and 4 via
cables with phono connectors. Instruments with line
level stereo outputs (keyboards etc.) can also be
added via the line inputs.
The channels 3 and 4 are equipped with RIAA
phono inputs (25) for connecting turntables with
mag netic system. In this case it has to be observed
that the separate phono ground lead is connected
with the ground screw terminal (23) on the rear pa n -
el of the unit, otherwise hum noise may occur.
4.2 Microphones
The mono microphone channel CH 1 (unbalanced)
is particularly suitable for DJ applications due to the
automatic talkover function. It is mixed to the master
outputs LEFT/RIGHT. For connection of a micro-
phone to this channel use the jack MIC/CH 1 (1).
The stereo channel CH 2 (unbalanced) is equipp ed
with 2 microphone inputs (2). One microphone will
be mixed to the left master output, the other one to
the right master. If CH 2 is to be operated with one
microphone only, connect the microphone to the
jack CH 2-L /MONO. The microphone signal is then
automatically mixed to both masters LEFT/RIGHT.
