ON/Standby Light

What is Adaptive Control?
Your SmartPower Energizer operates with Adap ve Control. Adap ve Control increases Stored Energy as fence load
increases (e.g. due to grass growing on the fence). A minimum 6.5kV Output Voltage in countries other than Europe
(5.2kV Output Voltage in Europe) is maintained, un l the energizer is overloaded. This ensures maximum shock is
always delivered, maintaining eff ec ve animal control.

Stored Energy
Stored Energy indicates how hard the energizer is working to deliver maximum Output Voltage. When your fence is in
good condi on the energizer requires less energy. Minimum Stored Energy for the MBX2500/BX2500 is 5 Joules and
MBX1500 is 3 Joules. As your fence becomes more heavily loaded, Adap ve Control delivers more energy - MBX2500/
BX2500 up to a maximum of 25 Joules and MBX1500 a maximum of 15 Joules. If the energizer cannot maintain at least
3kV Output Voltage then the fence is in poor condi on. Immediate fence maintenance is required.
If addi onal fence is connected, the level of Stored Energy will indicate whether the energizer is able to cope with the
extra load. If you have a well maintained fence and the energizer is opera ng at maximum energy but not maintaining
an Output Voltage of 3kV, you need to upgrade to a larger energizer.
Output Voltage and Alarm
If Output Voltage drops below 3kV (default se ng), when at maximum Stored Energy, then the alarm is ac vated.
The Output Alarm light and internal buzzer will turn on and remain on un l the alarm is cleared. This alarm indicates
the fence system is heavily loaded and at risk of being
inadequate for eff ec ve animal control. Urgent fence
maintenance is required. The alarm can
be set to 2kV, 3kV, 4kV or disabled via the switches
on the back of the energizer:

IMPORTANT For mains opera on with ba ery back-up: Trickle charge will not fully recharge a discharged ba ery.
HANDY HINT
Your SmartPower Energizer can be used with a solar panel. Permanently installed solar powered energizers are best
placed in the centre of the area to be fenced. Choose an area with no shadows on the equator side and face the panel
towards the equator.
Mount the solar installa on where there is no risk of the leads being chewed by animals.
For solar systems test the ba ery every 12 months because rechargeable ba eries can lose storage capacity over me.
