To get the best from your SmartPower Energizer
The SmartPower Energizer is a commitment to a reliable, high performance Power Fence system. To gain op mum
performance from your energizer you may need to improve your earth system, the quality of your lead-outs, fence design
and construc on. Please read the "Understanding your SmartPower Energizer" sec ons of this manual to understand
what the LCD informa on tells you. This informa on will help you achieve a very reliable, high performance Power Fence
system.

INSTALLATION GUIDE
Mains Operation only
See "For Mains Opera on with Ba ery Back-up and for Ba ery Only Opera on", for installing the
energizer with ba ery back-up or with full ba ery opera on.
Step 1: Install the Energizer
a) Mount the energizer on a wall, under cover, out of reach of children. Install where there is
no risk of the energizer incurring fi re or mechanical damage and if possible away from heavy
electrical equipment eg. pumps or other items that may cause electrical interference.
Note: Install the energizer in a frequently accessed place. The displays and alarms give
valuable informa on that can save me and help prevent costly problems.

Step 2: Connect to earth (ground) system
Using Underground Cable (G6270) remove 5cm (2") of plas c coa ng from one end of the cable and connect to the
green
( ) terminal on the energizer. A ach the cable to the earth system by removing 10cm (4") of insula on from the cable at
each Earth Stake (G8790), then clamp the
exposed wire to each stake using an Earth Clamp (G8760). Tighten the clamp.

Reference Earth:
An addi onal earth stake is required to allow correct measurement of the earth
voltage. Install a single stake (G8780) at least 60cm (2 ) long, at least 5m (16 )
from the main energizer earth system and at least 10m (33 ) from any power
supply earth peg, underground telephone or power cable. Using Underground
Cable (G6270) connect the reference earth stake to the black ( ) terminal on
the energizer.
IMPORTANT:
If the Reference Earth is not connected, the earth voltage display will fl ash 0.0.
Note that if your earth is near perfect, the display may also fl ash 0.0. To confi rm that your earth system is good
check the voltage at the stakes is 0.0.
