Warning – batteries
• Only use batteries (or rechargeable batteries) that
match the speci ed type.
• When inserting batteries, note the correct polarity
(+ and - markings) and insert the batteries accor-
dingly. Failure to do so could result in the batteries
leaking or exploding.
• Keep batteries out of the reach of children.
• Never open, damage or swallow batteries or allow
them to enter the environment. They can contain
toxic, environmentally unfriendly heavy metals.
• Do not tamper with or damage/heat/disassemble
the batteries/rechargeable batteries.
• Immediately remove and dispose of dead batteries
from the product.
• Do not short circuit the batteries/rechargeable
batteries and keep them away from uncoated
metal objects.

3. Getting started

• Clean the probes with a mild cleaning agent under
running water before starting up the device.
• Open the battery compartments on the rear of the
base station and thermometer, and insert the supplied
AAA batteries with the correct polarity. Close the
battery compartments properly.
• The thermometer beeps once the batteries have been
inserted and is immediately on. Switch the base station
on by setting the ON/OFF button on the underside
to ON. The base station LED constantly ashes red,
indicating that temperature data can be received.
• Insert the connection plugs of the two probes into the
'P1' and 'P2' sockets on the base station. Alternatively,
you can plug in only one probe.
Note
If you switch on the meat thermometer without
connecting the probes, - - - °C appears in the
display.
4. Operation

4.1 Switching ON/OFF

• To switch on the thermometer, press the ON/OFF
button; the device beeps once. To switch off the
thermometer, press and hold the ON/OFF button for
approximately 3 seconds.
• To switch on the base station, set the ON/OFF button
on the underside to ON. To switch it off, set the ON/
OFF button to OFF.

4.2 Directions for use

• Prepare the meat or sh. You can either use preset
cooking times or set your own cooking time or
temperature.
• Insert the probe at least 2 cm into the thickest part of
the food. Only the probe and the cable can withstand
temperatures of up to 250°C.
• Carefully guide the cable out of the oven. The oven
sealing strip will adjust to it.
Warning
Keep the base station and thermometer away from
the source of heat. Do not use the device in the
microwave. Do not allow any part of the probe to
come into contact with an open ame; may only be
used for ovens and grills.
5. Settings
5.1 Selection of Probe 1 and Probe 2
• Press MODE to select between Probe 1 and Probe 2,
in order to make settings for each probe.
• u PROBE 1: Probe 1 (P1 on the base station)
• PROBE 1: Probe 2 (P2 on the base station)
5.2 Selection of preset types of meat /
cooking programmes
• Press MEAT to select between various types of meat.
Each time you press the button, the type of meat
changes in the given order:
• Hamburger – Lamb – Fish – Veal – Beef – Turkey –
Chicken – Pork
• Use TASTE to select the desired level of doneness. The
following levels are available: Well Done – Medium
Well – Medium – Medium Rare – Rare.
• Each time you press the button, the displayed cooking
level changes. The target temperature is set automatically
based on the cooking level and type of meat selected.
• An alarm signal will sound when the set temperature
is reached. Stop the alarm by pressing the Start/Stop
button.
Note
Due to potential risk to health, not all cooking levels
are available for every type of meat.
5.3 Setting the temperature manually
• Press and hold the MODE button for approximately 3
seconds. The target temperature begins to ash.
• Now press the MIN button to increase the
temperature, or the SEC button to reduce it.
