► Position the unit so that you are facing the underside of
the deflector and the drive shaft is pointed upwards .
► Slip the fan wheel (2) onto the drive shaft (3), keeping the
side of the fan wheel with the ventilation grooves
downwards on the drive shaft (3).
Without a properly mounted fan wheel, the electric motor
will not be cooled sufficiently and the moving head can not
be removed anymore.
► By hand, screw the mowing head clockwise onto the drive
shaft while holding the fan wheel (2) with your hand.
► Continue screwing down the mowing head until it is
properly and securely attached.
NOTICE
Using the trimmer with overly long trimmer line increases the
load on the motor and reduces its operating speed. This may
result in overheating and damage to important components.
12.2.2 Removing a Mowing Head
To remove a mowing head:
► Switch off the power tool, @ 15.2.
► Remove the battery, @ 14.2
► Position the unit so that you are facing the underside of
the deflector and the drive shaft is facing upwards.
► Block the rotation of the drive shaft by holding the fan
wheel with your hand.
► Unscrew the mowing head by turning it counterclockwise.
► Remove the fan wheel.

12.3 Mounting the Loop Handle

WARNING
To reduce the risk of injury from loss of control, ensure that
the loop handle is properly mounted and adjusted before
starting work.
To mount the loop handle:

► Switch off the trimmer, @ 15.2.
► Remove the battery, @ 14.2.

► Line up the loop handle (2) with the mounting hole on the
trimmer, keeping the recess for the star knob (1) on the
right (see illustration).
► Insert the mounting screw (3) and tighten it with the star
knob.

13 Adjusting the Trimmer

13.1 Adjusting the Length of the Drive Tube

WARNING
To reduce the risk of injury from loss of control, ensure that
the drive tube is properly adjusted and engaged in the
locked position at all times while working.
The length of the drive tube can be adjusted to suit the
height and reach of the operator.
