Coiled spring
The coiled spring returns the quill to the starting (upper) position when you release the feed handles. If the
quill does not completely return or returns too fast, you may adjust the spring.
To adjust the spring, loosen the lock nut on the spring housing and turn the housing. Fasten the lock nut and
check the spring adjustment.
V-belt tension
To check the V-belt tension, open the V-belt cover. If the belt is correctly adjusted, the V-belt should give
approximately 13 mm when pressed between the pulleys.
If adjustment is necessary, loosen the lock bolt of the motor bracket. Shift the motor and check the tension.
Tighten the lock bolt.
Safety switch
A limit switch in the V-belt cover interrupts the power when the cover is opened. A small clip activates the
switch. If the machine does not stop when the V-belt cover is opened, you must adjust the clip:
- disconnect the machine from the power supply,
- open the V-belt cover and check the clip position,
- adjust the switch bracket so that the switch is correctly activated by the clip.
11. Maintenance
Warning!
For your own safety, turn switch "Off" and remove plug from power source outlet before
maintaining or lubricating your drill press.
Frequently blow out any dust that may accumulate inside the motor. A coat of automotive type paste wax
applied to the table and column will help to keep the surfaces clean.
Warning!
To avoid shock or fire hazard, if the power cord is worn or cut, or damaged in any way, have it
replaced immediately.

UBRICATION

All of the ball bearings are packed with grease at the factory. They require no further lubrication.
Periodically lubricate the table elevation mechanism, the splines/grooves (1) in the spindle (2) and the teeth
(rack) of the quill (3).
12. Troubleshooting
Warning!
For your own safety, turn switch "Off" and always remove plug from power source outlet before
troubleshooting.
