INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
Put all the parts back into the case, and store them in a safe,
dry place.
Always refer to the manufacturer's instructions and
the service manuals to take the steps in the correct
order.
This kit may only be used by trained personnel.
FIRST PREPARATION:
The glow plug should be easily accessible. The engine must
always be cold.
PROCEDURE:
1 - DRILLING (figures 4, 5, 6, 7)
Take the rod with the suitable drill
• Q - Drill Ø 3.2 with fitted extension (for M10x1 and
M10x1.25)
• O - Drill Ø 2.5 with fitted extension (for M9x1 and M8x1)
• M - Drill Ø 3.2 with fitted extension (for M8x1 – special
application), and fit it into the suitable guide (fig.4)
• A - Glow plug guide M10x1
• B - Glow plug guide M10x1.25
• C - Glow plug guide M9x1
• D - Glow plug guide M8x1
Carefully fit the rod with the drill into the glow plug compartment,
and screw the threaded guide by means of a 15mm wrench (fig. 5).
Start drilling using an electric/pneumatic drill, pressing lightly (fig. 6).
When drilling has been completed, disassemble the
tools and clean the glow plug seat with compressed air
to remove dirt and/or material residues (fig. 7).
2 - Tapping (figures 8, 9)
Take the rod with the suitable tap
• P - Tap M4 with fitted extension (for M10x1 and M10x1.25)
• N - Tap M3 with fitted extension (for M9x1 and M8x1)
• L - Tap M4 with fitted extension (for M8x1 – special application);
fit it into the suitable guide (fig. 8).
Carefully fit the rod with the tap into the glow plug compartment,
and screw the threaded guide.
Start manual tapping using a tap wrench (fig. 9).
When tapping has been completed, disassemble the
tools and clean the glow plug seat with compressed air
to remove dirt and/or material residues.
