Application and dimensioning

The drain set is applied with Flamcomat in larger systems where the complete expansion volume only occurs in rare
start-up and shut-down procedures and which is not included in the installed expansion. Drainset variants
are dimensioned in a way that, in specific cases, it helps to reduce the number of additional auxiliary vessels (for FMAT).

of the basic vessel.) (Drainage is only possible when using the integrated make-up system in the Flamcomat.)
However, it is preferable to install sufficient expansion vessels for absorbing the expansion volume and
filling this vessel correctly during commissioning with automatic, integrated FMAT make-up.

Drainset mode of operation

After reaching the drainset limit (default=94% of the FG), the drainset solenoid valve will be opened.
Medium is drained until the drainset shut-off limit* is reached (default= 94%-2%).

Initial operation
* If discharge occurs quickly because, for example, the vessel is relatively small and the FMAT unit only serves a relatively small plant capacity, this can lead to the level dropping
below the lower shut-off limit, due to the slow response of the filling level measurement. This means that the discharge controller may shut down slightly below the specified
discharge controller shut-off limit.
