SMSB-M20T-AB
Safety Information
The SMSB-M20T-AB device incorporates a latest-generation GSM engine. To install and use it cor-

rectly, the indications given in this manual are to be strictly respected.
The SMSB-M20T-AB device is a low-power radio trans-receiving device. When it is operating, it

sends and receives radio frequency energy. Operating the SMSB-M20T-AB device close to radios,
televisions, telephones or electronic devices in general may cause interference. The SMSB-M20T-
AB device may be subject to interference that affects its performance.
Do not install the SMSB-M20T-AB device close to pacemakers, auditory prostheses or medical de-

vices in general as the SMSB-M20T-AB device may interfere with the operation of these devices.
The SMSB12 device operates by means of a radio signal, no mobile telephone operator is capable of

ensuring a connection at all times. For this reason, the SMSB12 device cannot be used in life sup-
port systems.

Foreword
SMSB-M20T-AB is a GSM instrument designed for remote control of a device connected to it (boilers, air
conditioners, gates, pumps etc.).
With a simple command sent via SMS, or by a phone call (without answer) from an enabled user, it is
possible to control an external device. Via SMS it is possible to know its status (on or off), or have infor-
mation concerning about the ambient temperature, or else enable automatic control of the output in ac-
cordance with the ambient temperature.
Installation
For correct operation, the device requires a Plug-in SIM Card (not included) enabled to receive and
send SMS messages, and not protected by a PIN code.
Before inserting the SIM Card, remove (if present) the PIN code protection by using a cell phone.
Install the device on an interior wall sheltered from the sunlight and all sources of heat and corrosive
substances The product should be installed within the following temperature range: from -5° C to +45° C.
Warning: the power supply must be between 9 and 24V with a 1A current.
Procedure:
• make sure that the device is off;
• locate the SIM Card holder and exert a slight pressure on the yellow release pin of the SIM holder us-
ing a pencil;
• insert the SIM Card in its slot making sure of its correct orientation;
• close the SIM holder by pressing it fully home (with great care);
• screw the antenna on relative connector (without applying excessive force);
• place the product on a firm surface making sure that a good signal of the GSM operator is present;
• connect the external instrument with due observance of all necessary regulations;
• power up the device using the given power supply and checking the cables polarity.
Working Mode
The device could work in SMS Mode (relay comand by SMS) or RING Mode (relay command by ring).
SMSB-M20T-AB is supplied from factory in SMS Mode.
