The pressure-sided and suction-sided pipework system must be cleaned and all gate valves must
be opened

The pump casing must be flooded, e.g. it must be filled completely with the medium and it must not
contain an air. The de-aeration can be carried out by means of suitable venting devices in the
system or, if available, by air-vent screws on the pressure socket.

Check accessories, pipework, suspension devices for firm and correct fitting

Check available level controls/protection against dry run

5.6. Electrical system

The respective local regulations must be complied with when choosing and installing the electrical leads as well
as connecting the motor. The motor must be protected with a circuit breaker. The motor must be connected
according to the wiring diagram. Note the direction of rotation! In the event of wrong direction of rotation the
machine does not perform as indicated and it can become damaged under unfavourable circumstances.
Electric shock hazard!
Faulty dealing with current may jeopardize your life! All pumps with free cable ends must be connected
by a qualified electrician.

5.7. Direction of rotation

For 1Ph-motors, control of the direction of rotation is not necessary as these always run in the correct direction of
rotation.
The stated specifications and performance can only be achieved if there is a clockwise rotating field. The
machine is not designed for use on a left rotating field.

5.8. Motor protection

The minimal requirement is thermal relay / circuit breaker with temperature compensation, differential trigger and
anti-pumping device in accordance with respective local regulations. If the machinery is connected to electric
circuits in which frequent interferences occur, we recommend additional installation of safeguarding equipment (e.
g. overvoltage relay, undervoltage relay or phase failure relay, lightning protection, etc.). The local and legal
regulations must be complied with when connecting the machinery.
1-phase motor
Pumps with 230 V/1Ph motors come as standard with a 20 m cable with 3-pin plug.

5.9. Start-up methods

Start-up with plug
Plug the connector into the socket provided and press the on/off switch on the switching device.
5.9.1. After turning on
The nominal current is briefly exceeded on start-up. After completion of this operation, the operating current
should not exceed the nominal current. If the motor does not start immediately after switching on, it must be shut
down immediately. The switch breaks according to the technical data must be adhered to before turning on again.
If there is a new fault, the machine must again be shut down immediately. The machine may be powered-on
again only after troubleshooting.
The following items should be checked:

Operating voltage (permissible deviation +/- 5% of the rated voltage)

Frequency (permissible deviation -2% of the rated frequency)

Current consumption (permissible deviation between phases max. 5%)

Voltage difference between the individual phases (max. 1%)

Switching frequency and pauses (see Technical Data)

Air entry at the intake - if necessary, a baffle plate must be attached

Minimum water coverage, level control, dry run protection

Smooth running

Check for leaks: if necessary, take the necessary steps according to the chapter " Maintenance"
