PROBLEM
Handle not in correct position.

TROUBLESHOOTING

POSSIBLE CAUSE
Lower handle not seated fully in hous-
ing.
Handle knobs not tightened.
Extension cord not connected to the
dethatcher plug.
Extension cord not connected to
power source.
Dethatcher circuit breaker is tripped.
Household circuit breaker is tripped.
Motor control switch defective.
Debris or foreign object hindering
dethatcher cylinder or tines.
Grass is too tall.
Wet debris sticking to the underside
of the deck.
Tines worn or set at wrong height.
Tines worn or damaged.

SOLUTION
Seat lower handle fully in dethatcher
housing.
Tighten handle knobs.
Connect the cord and use the cord
retainer to keep the cord secured to
the dethatcher.
Connect the extension cord to a live
120V AC, 60 HZ AC receptacle.
Press dethatcher circuit breaker button
to reset.
Reset house circuit breaker. If it trips
again, call a qualified electrician.
Have motor control switch replaced by
an authorized service center.
Stop the motor, disconnect the power
source, and remove debris or foreign
objects preventing dethatcher from
operating properly.
Mow the lawn before dethatching.
Wait until the lawn dries before
dethatching.
Adjust height of tines to achieve
desired result.
Replace tines as needed.
