4.2. Start Buttons

There are two START buttons located at the front of the handle. In the
continuous mode (C), the upper button enables aspiration for as long as
the button is held down (within the operating range). The lower button
allows for dispensing. Furthermore, the aspiration/dispensing speed can
be regulated by applying a different amount of finger pressure to the START
buttons. When the programmable modes (P, d, Sd) are employed, either
of the START buttons can be used to activate the unit once all the required
information has been programmed. Only a light touch is needed to activate
a function on these modes. If the programmed function must be stopped,
e.g. when the programmed volume exceeds the volume of the pipette/tip
in use, pressing both buttons simultaneously will interrupt the operation
and a
buttons once more will reset the unit, i.e. empty the pipette/tip.

4.3. Display

The left display is the status indicator. It informs the user about
parameters to be programmed, functions to be performed, the number of
dispensings available, and the remaining capacity of the battery.
The right display is used for programming and displaying the various
volumes needed in different operating modes. It also contains the piston
direction symbols.
