    2.1. Installing the Charging Base 1. Connect the AC-adaptor into the connector at the rear of the charging base (Fig. 1). 2. Before connecting the AC-adaptor to the electrical outlet make sure that the voltage setting corresponds to the voltage from your electrical outlet and that the AC- adaptor is compatible with your electrical outlet.

    The 25 ml nose cone/adapter allows the use of all standard plastic and glass pipettes (graduated and non-graduated) including Pasteur pipettes. The 5 and 10 ml nose cone/adapters are intended to be used with Biohit Proline 5 and 10 ml tips, accordingly.

    Removing the nose cone and adapter exposes a hydrophobic filter (0.45 micron) located at the top of the nose piece. The filter protects the XL from accidental over-aspirations and we strongly recommend to use only the original Biohit filters. Both sterile and non-sterile filters are available. Cat.     5.4. Pipetting Mode (P) The pipettor performs ordinary pipetting with blow-out. 1. Press to display 2. Press to confirm the mode change. 3.     10. To dispense, position the tip, press either of the START buttons and repeat until the cycle is complete. Note: To avoid dripping, the XL will automatically aspirate a small amount of air after each dispensing. 11.     5.7. Continuous Pipetting Mode (C) The aspiration and dispensing are controlled manually. The aspiration/ dispensing continues as long as the corresponding button is held down (within the operating volume range). The C-mode is also provided with the blow-out function. 1. Press to display 2.

    6.2. Dispensing without Blow-Out The blow-out function cannot be employed on the dispensing modes (d, Sd). Therefore, it is recommended that dispensing is always performed with the pipette/tip set against the wall of the container. Note: To avoid dripping, the XL will automatically aspirate a small amount of air after each dispensing.

    8. CALIBRATION The calibration of each Biohit Proline XL has been factory checked and certified at 22°C using distilled water according to DIN 12650-7. Specifications of the XL are guaranteed only when it is used with genuine Biohit Proline tips. Due to the varying nature of different manufacturer’s serological pipettes, no specifications for serological pipettes, others than 25 ml are given.

    (121°C, 1 atm). 10. TROUBLE-SHOOTING The Biohit Proline XL has a built-in monitoring program to control the precision and performance of each pipetting action. If the error message ”Er” appears on the display, this means the XL has been unable to perform the attempted action properly.
  • Page 21 Repeated occurrence of the the ”Er” message is caused by internal error, which is due to a failure in the execution of the stroke path. In this case the pipettor will need to be returned to the local Biohit distributor for repair.

    11. WARRANTY INFORMATION The Biohit Proline XL is warranted for one year (the battery is warranted for three months) against defects in materials and workmanship. Should it fail to function at any time, please contact your local representative immediately. The warranty will not cover defects caused by normal wear or by handling or using the pipettor in a manner contrary to the instructions given in the manual.

    Der drehbare Kopf des XL kann optimal positioniert werden, wodurch die Handgelenksbelastung erheblich reduziert wird. Der Biohit Proline XL arbeitet nach dem Luftpolsterprinzip und ist mit drei verschiedenen Adaptern ausgestattet, um alle standardmäßigen, geeichte und nicht geeichte Glas- oder Kunststoffpipetten, genauso wie Biohit Proline 5 ml (780200 und 780300) und 10 ml (780310) Polypropylenspitzen aufzunehmen.

    2.1. Installieren der Ladestation 1. Schließen Sie den Netzadapter an der Buchse auf der Rückseite der Ladestation an (Abb. 1). 2. Bevor Sie den Netzadapter an die Steckdose anschließen, vergewissern Sie sich, daß der Netzstecker paßt, und daß die Netzspannung mit dem gelieferten Netzadapter übereinstimmt.

    5.7. Dauermodus (C) Die Ansaugung und Abgabe wird manuell gesteuert und dauert solange an, wie der entsprechende Knopf gedrückt gehalten wird (innerhalb des Volumenbereiches).     Vermeiden Sie es, den XL extremen Temperaturunterschieden, Feuchtigkeit oder Staub auszusetzen. Vermeiden Sie rohe Gewalt, denn für die Tastatur ist nur leichter Druck notwendig. 7. LAGERUNG Wenn der XL nicht in Gebrauch ist, wird empfohlen, ihn eingeschaltet in der Biohit Proline Ladestation zu lagern.

    8. KALIBRIERUNG Bei jedem Biohit Proline XL wird ab Werk eine Kalibrierung bei 22°C unter Verwendung von destilliertem Wasser entsprechend DIN 12650 durchgeführt und zertifiziert. Die Spezifikationen des XL gelten nur in Verbindung mit echten Biohit Proline Spitzen. Wegen der Unterschiedlichkeit der serologischen Pipetten der verschiedenen Hersteller können keine Spezifikationen für andere Pipetten als 25 ml gegeben...

    8.1. Überprüfung des XL 1. Stecken Sie sorgfältig eine Pipette/Spitze auf den Spitzenkonus auf. 2. Befeuchten Sie die Spitze mit dem gewählten Volumen 5 mal mit destilliertem Wasser vor. 3. Nehmen Sie sorgfältig Flüssigkeit auf, halten Sie die Pipette dabei senkrecht.

    9. WARTUNG Der Biohit Proline XL muß regelmäßig gereinigt werden, um störungsfreies Arbeiten zu garantieren. Benutzen Sie ein weiches, feuchtes Tuch mit einem milden Reinigungsmittel, um die äußere Oberfläche der Pipette zu reinigen. NIEMALS AUTOKLAVIEREN! Nur die Spitzenkoni und die Silikonadapter können autoklaviert werden.

    6.2. Distribution sans purge Le pipeteur XL n’a pas de fonction de purge en utilisant les modes de distribution (d et Sd). Cependant lors de la distribution il est recommandé de placer la pipette (ou la pointe) contre la paroi du container. Note: pour éviter la formation d’une goutte, le pipeteur XL aspirera automatiquement une petite bulle d’air après chaque distribution.

    6.2. Dispensación sin expulsión del líquido en punta (without blow out) Cuando utilizamos los modos de dispensación (d y Sd), la XL no realiza la expulsión total del líquido en punta. Por lo tanto, se recomienda que las dispensaciones sean siempre realizadas con la pipeta/punta situada contra la pared o el fondo del contenedor.

    8. CALIBRACION La calibración de cada pipeta Biohit XL ha sido efectuada en la fábrica y certificada a 22°C utilizando agua destilada de acuerdo a la DIN 12650. Las especificaciones de la XL están garantizadas solamente si se utilizan puntas genuinas Biohit Proline. Debido a la diferencia de naturaleza y fabricación de las pipetas serológicas, no se dan sus especificaciones.
