Note: Compass orientation
can affect monitor perfor-
mance. All monitors that use
cathode ray tube (CRT)
technology are susceptible
to the earthユs magnetic
properties and are thus af-
fected by the compass ori-
entation at which they are
located. Thorough degauss-
ing should eliminate most
effects caused by the earthユs
magnetism.
Image is not sized or centered properly
Image cannot be adjusted full screen (to the bezel edge)
Non-shielded speakers are too close to the moni-
tor.
Strong magnetic fields are in proximity to the moni-
tor.
Your monitor is positioned too close to another
monitor or too close to metal shelving or support
beams.
Compass orientation of the monitor.
The monitor has an auto-degauss function that auto-
matically demagnetizes the metal frame in the cathode
ray tube (CRT). This function is triggered when you
power up the monitor. Sometimes more than one de-
gauss cycle is required to eliminate magnetizing ef-
fects. If this is the case, initiate the auto-degauss pro-
cess several times (by powering the monitor up and
down) at intervals of more than 20 minutes each.
Use the size and center controls to adjust the image as
desired. See the section of this manual entitled, "Screen
controls and functions."
Some video modes used by your monitor produce
images that cannot be adjusted all the way out to the
bezel edge (the edge where the screen glass and moni-
tor casing plastic meet). This condition does NOT indi-
cate that the monitor is defective. Choose a different
refresh rate or resolution.
