3.2. Einführung PDM
Stabiler Informations- und Produktionsfl uss

Datenverlust, Funktions- und Produktions-
ausfall führen zu großen, zum Teil existenzbe-
drohenden Schäden. Ein erklärtes unterneh-
merisches Ziel ist deshalb, größtmögliche
Sicherheit und Zuverlässigkeit zu erreichen.

tionen, umfassende Sicherheit und zentrale

Ergebnis ist das optimale Zusammenwirken
von Power-Management und Administration,
Schranküberwachung, Serveradministration
und Klimatisierungskomponenten.
Die Lösung für das Power-Management Rittal
PDR und PDM. Dieses Konzept umfasst die
komplette Stromverteilung des Schrankes,
d.h. Einspeisung, Verteilung und Schutz.
Komplettiert wird das ganze System durch
einen ausgeklügelten modularen Aufbau. Eine
BasisiInstallation kann mit wenigen Handgrif-
fen realisiert werden. Steigen die Anforderun-
gen an das System, so kann man einfach mit
Power Distribution Module (PDM) erweitern.
Power Distribution Rack (PDR) und Power
Distribution Modul (PDM) bieten ein revolutio-
nierendes Energiemanagement für IT-Racks.
Das modulare Sromversorgungssystem
ermöglicht die Energieversorgung von der 250
A Einspeisung über bis zu 8 einsteckbaren
Power Distribution Modulen (PDM).
Das PDM, eingebaut in ein Rack, ist aus-
schließlich für den Betrieb im Data Center
vorgesehen. Aus einem PDM können bis zu
4 Racks mit 3 Phasen á 16 A mit Strom ver-
sorgt werden. Vorzugsweise sollte der Strom
in den Racks über eine PSM-Schiene verteilt
werden.
Die Versorgung des PDM mit Strom erfolgt
über das PDR. Hierzu ist das PDM in einen
freien Steckplatz des PDR, wie unter Abschnitt
Montage beschrieben, einzustecken.

3.2. Introduction the PDM
The steady fl ow of information and produc-
tion is essential to a business. Loss of data,
malfunctions and production downtime can
cause major damages, which can sometimes
be life-threatening. For this reason, achieving
the highest level of safety and reliability must
be one of a company's stated objectives.
To meet this objective, Rittal uses all-round
capabilities to off er eff ective prevention, com-
prehensive safety and centralised organisation
– in other words, teamwork for IT safety. The
result: power management and administration,
enclosure monitoring, server administration
and air conditioning, all working together in an
optimal way.
Rittal PDR and PDM are the solution for power
management. This approach covers total
power distribution in the enclosure: infeed,
distribution and protection. The whole system
is enhanced by a sophisticated modular
design. Basic installation can be completed
in a few easy steps. When system require-
ments increase, the Power Distribution Module
(PDM) can simply be expanded. The Power
Distribution Rack (PDR) and Power Distribu-
tion Module (PDM) represent a revolutionary
approach to IT rack energy management. The
modular power supply system enables energy
to be supplied from the 250 A infeed via up to
8 Power Distribution Modules (PDM) that can
be plugged in.
The rack-mounted PDM is designed exclu-
sively for data centre use. One PDM can
provide 3-phase 16 A power to up to 4 racks.
Preferably, one PSM busbar should distribute
power to the racks.
The PDM is powered by the PDR. The PDM
must be plugged into a free slot in the PDR, as
described in the "Installation" section.

Les fl ux d'informations et de production
constituent l'artère vitale d'une entreprise. Les
pertes de données, les défauts fonctionnels et
les arrêts de production entraînent de grands
dommages menaçant parfois la survie de l'en-
treprise. L'objectif de l'entreprise repose donc
sur une sécurité et une fi abilité optimales. Rittal
propose à cet eff et une assistance : avec des
compétences complètes pour des préven-
tions performantes, une sécurité totale et une
organisation centralisée, c'est-à-dire un travail
en équipe pour la sécurité informatique ! Ces
mesures permettent l'interaction optimale de
la gestion de l'électricité et l'administration, la
surveillances des armoires, l'administration de
serveur et des composants de climatisation.
Les PDR et PDM Rittal off rent la solution pour
la gestion de l'électricité. Ce concept inclut la
distribution de courant complète de l'armoire,
à savoir l'alimentation, la répartition et la pro-
tection. Le système complet est associé à une
structure modulaire ingénieuse. L'installation
de base peut être réalisée en quelques gestes.
Lorsque les exigences du système augmen-
tent, il est alors possible d'étendre simplement
le système avec le Power Distribution Module
(PDM). Power Distribution Rack (PDR) et
Power Distribution Module (PDM) assurent
une gestion révolutionnaire de l'énergie pour
les baies IT. Le système de distribution de
courant modulaire permet l'approvisionnement
en énergie depuis l'alimentation 250 A aux 8
Power Distribution Module (PDM) enfi chables.
Le PDM intégré dans une baie est prévu
exclusivement pour l'utilisation dans une salle
informatique. Il est possible d'alimenter jusqu'à
4 baies en triphasé 16 A, à partir d'un PDM.
De préférence, le courant doit être réparti dans
les baies par un rail PSM.
L'alimentation en courant du PDM s'eff ectue
par le PDR. Pour cela, le PDM doit être enfi ché
dans un emplacement libre du PDR, comme le
décrit la section Montage ci-dessous.
