Possible cause / solution
• Is the On / Off switch (4) in position I (ON)?
• Is the plug inserted in the socket correctly?
• Is the socket defective? Try another plug socket.
• Check the fuse of the mains connection.
• Has the device overheated? Wait until it has cooled down,
pour in water and try again.
• Is the amount of water less than the MIN marking?
• Is the On / Off switch (4) blocked?
• Is the device being used for the fi rst time? A smell often de-
velops when new devices are fi rst used. The smell should
disappear once the device has been used several times.
• Has the kettle been descaled previously? Rinse out the
kettle with clear water.
