1. Warning and caution statements
CAUTION
• Check regularly that the vacuum pump works correctly and that the air can be evacuated from the Vacuum Splint
so as to make it rigid.
• Avoid handling the Vacuum Splint close to sharp objects.
• Avoid handling the Vacuum Splint close to an open fire.
• Check regularly that the vacuum pump, the Vacuum Splint and the straps are not damaged or display signs
of wear and tear. Repair any damages and change defective parts immediately.
• Check regularly that the Vacuum Splint has no cracks.
Recommendation: Usable life of 5 years
2. Intended use
The EasyFix PLUS Vacuum Splints are intended to stabilise injured patients during transport. They are suited for
fixation of patients with hand, arm, leg, shoulder and hip injuries. The Vacuum Splints are available as full leg-, lower
leg-, arm- splints.

4. Description
The Vacuum Splint consists of an outer cover made of hard-wearing PVC coated fabric with an innerbag of polyester
filled with polystyrene granule. The inner bag is sewn in channels enabling the granule to spread evenly.
When the air is evacuated, the granule is moulded into a tight substance making the Vacuum Splint rigid and unable to
shape. Before and while the air is evacuated the Vacuum Splint may be moulded according to the shape of the patient's
limb in order to obtain optimum support of the patient.
The Vacuum Splint is equipped with straps with Velcro fastenings and for Full Leg splint - 2 extension straps.
A head strap is optionally available for the Leg Splint and the Full Leg Splint.
