ing cleaning fluid. Never use aggressive substances or solvents when clean-
ing.

Maintenance, servicing and repair
10.1
Maintenance and servicing
Following assembly and service work the following points must be checked
before re-commissioning. In the interest of explosion protection the following
points are to be regularly checked on all devices, including the maintenance-
free devices of the 728 and 729 series.
• Cracks or damage to the glass dome or the light fitting housing
• Connecting lead in a perfect condition?
• Are the cable inlet itself and the seal inside the cable inlet in a proper work-
ing order?
• Are the cable inlet and the plug tightly fitted?
• Is the electrical connection in a perfect condition? Are the PE conductor
and the equipotential bonding conductor connected?
• Are the interiors (Ex d and Ex e housings) clean and in a perfect condition?
• Retighten signal lamp fastening screws! Check for signs of corrosion.
10.2
Changing the bulb
(see fig. 7a/7b page 24 et seq)
µ In order to change the bulb with type 785 the housing is to be opened as
described under 7.1.
µ Replace defective bulbs with 20W bulbs of the same voltage.
µ Close the housing as described under 7.2.
µ Inspection of the condition of the flameproof thread gap (on housing and
glass retention ring).
µ In order to prevent corrosion the flameproof gap is to be treated with an
acid-free aluminium-compatible grease when the housing is open. If the
device is mounted in an aggressive, corrosive environment regular greas-
ing of the thread gap may be required.
Corrosion protection with a layer of paint is forbidden on principle!
10.3
Repair
Repairs to the flameproof housing are not permitted and as a matter of princi-
ple must be carried out by the manufacturer. Components may only be
replaced by original spare parts!
11
Disposal
Observe national waste disposal regulations when disposing of the appliance!
