Do not throw the battery into a fire. It may explode. It has to be disposed of separately
at the end of its useful life. Refer to local legislation and regulations.

The UPS contains several large-capacity batteries. To avoid any danger of electric
shock do not open it/them. If a battery needs servicing or has to be replaced, please
contact the distributor.

Servicing should be performed or supervised by competent personnel who take the
necessary precautions. Keep unauthorised personnel away from batteries.

A battery has a high short circuit current and may present a risk of electric shock and
cause short circuits. The following precautions should be taken by the qualified and
skilled technician:
Remove watches, rings or other metal objects from hands.
Use tools with insulated handles.
Disconnect the charging source prior to connecting or disconnecting battery
terminals.
When replacing batteries, use the same type and number of sealed lead-
acid batteries.
Wear rubber gloves and boots.
Do not lay tools or metal parts on top of batteries.
Remove battery grounds during installation and maintenance to reduce
likelihood of shock. Remove the connection from ground if any part of the
battery is determined to be grounded.
For UPS with internally mounted battery :

a) Instructions shall carry sufficient information to enable the replacement of the battery
with a suitable manufacturer and catalogue number.
b) Safety instructions to allow access by Service Personnel shall be stated in the
installation/service handbook.
c) If batteries are to be installed by Service Personnel, instructions for interconnections,
including terminal torque, shall be provided.
10. Do not attempt to dispose of batteries by burning them. This could cause battery
explosion.
11. Do not open or destroy batteries. Escaping electrolyte can cause injury to the skin and
eyes. It may be toxic.
12. Please replace the fuse only with the same type and amperage in order to avoid fire
hazards.
13. Do not dismantle the UPS system.
