When mounting a load cell on a base plate with the flatness < 0.1 mm,
the limit load in the loading direction increases to 1000%
The following precautionary measures must be complied with during
installation and operation:
• The gap between the base plate and load cell acts as an overload
protection. Contamination of this gap can cause force shunts which can
lead to measurement errors. If there is danger of contamination, overload
protection must be provided in another manner, e.g. punctiform with
adjusting screws.
• The length of the fastening screws must not exceed the maximum screw−in
length of 7 mm so that the load cell is not damaged.
• Overload protection can be achieved if the installation instructions are
complied with. Please note the permissible maximum values for eccentric
loads and take into account overloads from knocks.
• Avoid force shunts during setup.
