OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

IMPORTANT: Before operating this appliance, make sure it has been properly installed according to the
appliance's Owner's Manual.
The Temperature Control UI is located on the side of the left refrigerator door. The water and ice
dispenser, and additional features are located on the Control UI above the dispenser.
When you first install your refrigerator, make sure the temperature controls are still set to the
recommended set points: 37°F (3°C) for the refrigerator and 0°F (-18°C) for the freezer.

NOTE: To view temperature in degrees Celsius, touch °C-°F button and the temperature display will
change. To return to Fahrenheit, touch °C-°F button and the temperature display will change.
To activate Temperature mode for Pantry, touch Pantry and toggle through 4 optional temperature
settings: Meat, Drink, Deli, and Wine. The display will show the temperature set point
(Meat/Drink/Deli/Wine) of the selected setting for the Pantry.
Recommended Refrigerator Temperature
Refrigerator set point range: 33°F to 42°F
(0°C to 5.5°C)
When adjusting temperature set points, use the following chart as a guide.

Max Cool/Max Freeze (Temperature Control UI)
The Max Cool/Max Freeze feature assists with periods of high refrigerator use, full grocery loads, or
temporarily warm room temperatures.
� To turn on the Max Cool/Max Freeze feature, press and hold the Fridge/Freezer button for 3 seconds.
When the button is pressed, the Max Cool and Max Freeze icons will blink 3 times and appear on the
display screen.
� The Max Cool/Max Freeze feature will remain on for 24 hours unless manually turned off. Adjusting
the refrigerator temperature will automatically turn off the Max Cool/Max Freeze feature. To manually
turn off the Max Cool/Max Freeze feature, press and hold the Fridge/Freezer button for 3 seconds
and the display will blink 3 times and turn off.
NOTE: Setting the freezer to a colder temperature may make some foods, such as ice cream harder.
Water Filter Status (Dispenser Control UI)
The dispenser control UI displays water filter status related alerts.
� The "Replace Filter" message will be displayed when the rated volume of water has passed through
the filter or 6 months have passed since the filter was installed. A new water filter should be installed
immediately when the "Replace Filter" alert is displayed.
� After 14 days at Replace Filter stage, the "Replace filter overdue" message will be displayed. Also, an
alert chime will sound. The water filter should be replaced at least every 6 months.
Press and hold the Lock button and the Ice Type button simultaneously for 3 seconds to reset the water
filter.
Power Outage (Dispenser Control UI)
The dispensing control UI lets you know if the power supply to the refrigerator has been off and the
freezer temperature has risen.
The dispenser control UI will read "Power Outage" message and an alert tone will sound 3 times. Touch
any button to stop the tone and turn off the Power Outage icon.
Once the power has been restored to normal, "Power Outage" message will disappear.
Sabbath And Vacation Mode (Temperature Control UI)
Press and hold the "Mode" button for 3 seconds to toggle between Sabbath, Vacation, and normal use
modes. This is used for entering and exiting Sabbath and Vacation modes.
Sabbath Mode:
The freezer and refrigerator set points remain unchanged while in this mode. If you turn on Sabbath
mode, the word "Sabbath" will light up on the display.
NOTE: You will be unable to dispense or change temperature set points in Sabbath mode. Your interior
lighting and control panels will all be inactive in Sabbath mode.
Vacation Mode:
Vacation mode can be used when going on vacation, see "Vacation and Moving Care" section for proper
steps on leaving your refrigerator in this mode for long periods of time.
In this mode, the refrigerator compartment temperature will be set to 55°F (12.8°C) and the freezer
temperature will remain unchanged. If any refrigerator door is opened or UI interaction occurs, the
refrigerator will exit the vacation mode.
Demo Mode (Temperature Control UI)
This Demo mode deactivates all other functions except interior lighting. It is used when the refrigerator is
on display in a retail store or if you want to turn the cooling off. If you turn on Demo mode, the icon
"Demo" will light up on the display.
NOTE: Empty ice maker if refrigerator is going to be turned off for an extended period of time.
To enter and exit the demo mode, press and hold the Pantry button and Temperature unit selection
buttons for 10 seconds.
