2. Install the Software
Close all programs.
1.
Insertthe HPPhoto& Imaging CD that is appropriate

for your language and operating system.
Windows: Follow the on-screen instructions.
installationdoes not start automatically: On Start menu,
click Runand type: D:setup.exe(where D is the letter of
the CD-ROMdrive).
Note: To determine which scanner software to install,
see the on-screen installation instructions and the
User's Manual.
Macintosh: Double-click the installer icon on the CD.
3. Connect the Scanner and
Accessories in the Order Shown
1. Connectthe USBcable to the scannerand to your
computer.
2. Connectthe ADF cable to its port on the back of the
scanner.
3. Connectthe TMA cable to its port on the back of the
scanner.
4. Connectthe power supply to the scannerand then
plug it into a surge protectoror grounded wall
outlet. The scanner turns on.
4. To Scan
1. Placethe original face-upon the ADF or face-down
on the scannerglass as indicated by the
reference mark.
2. Press the appropriate button and follow the on
screen instructions.
Scanner Buttons
Scan Document —Sends the scan to a chosen
destination.
Scan Picture — Sends the scan to the HP Photo
& Imaging Gallery software.
FileDocuments Scansthe original document
to be saved on a disk or CD.
— E-Mail —Sendsthe scan to your e-mail
software using settingsoptimized for e-mail
(if your software is supported).
Copy Sendsthe scan to a printer.

3. Connexion du scanner et des
accessoires dans l'ordre indiqué
1. Connectez le cable USB au scanner et
Ilordinateur.
2. Connectez le cable du bac dlalimentation
automatiqueau port correspondantd Ilarriére du
scanner.
3. Connectez le cable de lladaptateur pour supports
transparentsau port correspondantd I arriére du
scanner.
4. Connectez le cordon d alimentationau scanner,puis
branchez-le un parasurtenseur ou d une prise
murale reliée d la terre. Le scanner slallume.
4. Numérisation
1. PlacezIloriginal face impriméecontre la vitre du
scannerou face impriméevers le haut dans
le bac d'alimentation automatiquecomme
indiqué par la marquede référence.
2. Appuyez sur le bouton approprié et suivez les
instructions affichées d I écran.

numérisé vers une destination choisie.
Numériser image : envoie le document
numérisévers la Galerie photo et imagerie HP.
Enregistrerlesdocuments: numérisele
documentoriginal d enregistrersur un disque
ou sur un CD.

numérisévers le logiciel de messagerie(si ce
dernier estcompatible) en utilisantdes
parametresoptimiséspour Ilenvoi par courrier
électronique.
Copier : envoie le documentnumérisévers une
imprimante.
