Operating the Blender

Before operating the blender, read the Program Cycles section below to better understand
this feature.
Program Cycles

Cycle Descriptions

The Mode switch on each of the Tempest
series blenders allows you to select one
of three program cycles:
• A (Four-step Cycle)
• B (Three-step Cycle)
• C (Slide-step Cycle)
Each cycle's speed fluctuates in a prepro-
grammed combination of pulses to blend a
specific type of drink. See charts below.
To end a cycle, either set the Power switch
to OFF or momentarily press the Pulse
switch. DO NOT remove the container while
the unit is running. This will stop the unit,
but it will also increase clutch wear.
You cannot change cycles while the unit is
running by selecting a new cycle on the
Mode switch.

NOTE: With all 3 program cycles, the
blender speed starts slowly and increases
gradually. This is normal.
Cycle Applications
Each cycle has been designed to blend
certain types of drinks or foods. Below is a
suggested list of drinks and foods for each
cycle; however, each cycle is not limited
to this list:
A (Four-step Cycle) Example: Margaritas,
Daiquiris, Iced Cappuccino, Granitas,
Cocktails, Smoothies
B (Three-step Cycle) Example:
Smoothies, Milk Shakes
C (Slide-step Cycle) Example: Salsas,
Soups, Salad Dressings, Dips, Sauces
NOTE: You may wish to experiment
with each cycle to determine the most
effective blending cycle for commonly-
made drinks.
