BECATRANS
BECAFIRE
5. First warm-up
After processing or construction, allow to dry well (4 weeks).
Undried walls easily retain all kinds of dust, such as possible soot particles when
lighting the insert or suddenly opening the door, for example.
Dusts that burn out are also easily retained by damp walls, e.g. dust on the outside
of the unit, but also dust on hot radiators, etc.
Make sure that all packaging material, stickers, etc., are removed.
And that all dust
and all debris from the installation work is removed.
Recheck that all moving parts are functioning properly.
And if attachments such as the deflector, slats, grille, etc...
Occupy the correct position, they may have slipped during installation.
The insert is covered with a heat-resistant lacquer.
This lacquer has the property of hardening only at high temperatures.
Therefore, when unpacking, the unit is not yet hardened.
It is therefore easily damaged.
Start by lighting the insert with a tempered fire (see Chapter 6).
Gradually increase this light for about 2 hours until the correct power is reached.
Heat for another 2-3 hours.
The lacquer is now hardened and can be touched without damage.
During the hardening process, there may be some annoying odours/vapours,
But inoffensive, they are harmless.
Ensure good ventilation. (open window,...)
