3.3 Setting up
An insert can be installed in a new chimney to be built as well as in an existing
open fire. During installation, both fire and operational safety must be
guaranteed. Installers are responsible for this.
General guidelines:
If there is a wood beam above the insert, it must not receive direct fire radiation.
Under the beam there must be a gap of at least 8cm, with an insulation plate
underneath.
Always use free (white) ceramic insulation wool. When heating, bound
(yellowish) material, such as glass wool and rock wool, gives off an irritating
smell and causes discomfort through smoke and is not suitable for high
temperatures.
Before installation, remove the door in order to avoid breaking the glass.
