3.3.1. Ventilation / venting
For the insert, a distinction is made between
Heating air
Combustion air
The heating air (convection air) is only intended for heat transfer from the
appliance to the room. No additional devices are required. The air comes from the
room and stays in the room.
Combustion air is needed to maintain combustion, as the air is drawn out of the
room through the natural draft of the chimney.
The air intake openings are located under the door.
When using the appliance, care must be taken to ensure that the air inlet openings
are not blocked.
The supply lines are located under the door.
When using the appliance, make sure that there is a sufficient supply of additional
fresh air, which cannot be shut off, that is specific to the chimney and has a cross-
section of at least 50 cm2 .
If the house is equipped with a CMV (controlled mechanical ventilation) that
causes a vacuum in the room where the unit is installed, it is necessary to install an
outside air intake.
To do so, always consult the installer.
In homes with an exhaust hood in use, it must be in the lowest or off position. If
the extractor hood remains in operation, it must be in the lowest position or out of
order,
provide additional ventilation.
This not only prevents poor combustion, but also prevents the flue gases from
being sucked out of the appliance into the room.
